OK, question about prizes and skins. Is that based on cumulative gold or gold on hand. In other words, I had to spend gold to upgrade Barbarian Homer, which reduced my gold level. Wizard Marge unlocks at 5000 Gold. Did the money I spent on Homer's upgrade effectively increase the amount of time it will take me to get Marge? I suspect it did, which means that getting prizes will require a balancing of what to spend and when depending on what you need or want. I don't think u lost the gold for the first skins (or u shudnt have, at least); the gold accumulates and you don't have to spend it, just reach the goals for the rewards. I understand that no gold was lost when I reached the prize levels that I've accumulated thus far (first 4), but I had nothing to spend gold on up to that point either. Now I can spend gold to raise Homer's level, but that gold is taken away from my current balance. The next goal is 5000 gold to get Wizard Marge and I'm currently just shy of 4000, so I suspect I'll have my answer soon enough since Homer is on a 24 hour elixir binge and so I'll either get the Marge skin before I cross 5000 or not. I'm expecting that I need to have 5000 gold on-hand before it gives it to me, but I'm hoping otherwise.

Hmmmm. About going to random people's towns (which I love, btw)...
Remember between Halloween and when the Friends Points system was introduced we had random "frink"s floating above our tapped buildings? In retrospect it seems that the frinks were part of testing.
So now I'm thinking with visiting random towns... I wonder if that's why so many people have gotten the wrong town glitch over the last few months.

You don't use gold when you level up skins, you just have to have that gold "score." No idea why they don't level up automatically. You do spend elixir to level up buildings, just to add to the confusion.

Here's the Gold Chart to finish the day before the event ends.

I think I'll like this event ...
Thanks for all the info!
Is anyone else planning to just let their buildings get ransacked, then rebuild them? I like doing that. It halves my reward, but I think it means a lot bigger reward for the invader. I do defend my castle(s), since I need them to produce more nerds, but I let people destroy my houses.
Also, this is the first time I've had a small housefarm, lol. (to make sure people have buildings to attack)

So sorry just trying to clarify...it is better for our neighbors if we attack neighbors houses versus random hoods, but not as beneficial for us? (I'm ok with this since I get the extra points from my own neighbors doing this in my town but just wanted to make sure so I will concentrate on going to neighbors instead of randoms.)

I think anyone you attack (friend or random) gets 20 elixir 10 coins when they defend or 10 elixir 5 coins when they rebuild, whether they were a friend or a random. But of course your friend only gets this from you if you attack them. In my opinion it's unfortunate that attacking randoms awards bigger rewards than attacking friends. Myself I'd rather attack mostly friends.

(I'm ok with this since I get the extra points from my own neighbors doing this in my town but just wanted to make sure so I will concentrate on going to neighbors instead of randoms.) It's better for our neighbors, because they will get more rewards since we the attacks we use on them could go towards attacking randoms. Attacking randoms is only beneficial to us if the attack wins. My current strstegy is to only use cheaters on random castles; that gives the biggest reward, so hook me up. Almost every other attack is on a friend castle. I revenge everyone to see if their castle is free, and usually don't attack if only houses are free. When I have about 10 minutes or so, I'll go through my 100 friends trying to get castles. I can cruise thru the list when there's a proper strategy, and the auto scroll makes all the decisions for ya. If I have a bit more time, I'll go through and attack friends with low gold to try to help them out. I also usually visit my friends most days (even in non events)...I'm basically addicted to seeing donuts pop out, it's as exciting as the game gets for me...

Yes - this. ^^^^^^^ Except the low gold thing - I'd love to be THAT helpful, but I don't have the time. And yes, I still get excited when donuts pop up, and pissed when I do a complete round and get nothing to show for it.

Castle stats: On the Castle Summary popup, I can see each castle's level, get info on how many nerds each produces/2hrs, see my town's(?) defense level (we think that's what the shield means, yes?), see how many nerds I have overall, and go visit each castle.
Is there a speedy way to find my nerd capacity, either overall or for each castle?

I don't see anywhere that lists your nerd capacity, and I've been looking!

So with the nerd limit (A nerd limit? That's just rude!) I'm changing tactics to try to squeeze my little cosplay warriors as far as they'll go & plan to only attack 2 houses per town, 1 nerd each. I think I need to be more tempered & go long game with these updates....but sadly patience is NOT one of my virtues. I have to say though I'm really loving the hoards running around my town when I'm invaded, so cute! This is turning out to be fun, not as cool as the Stonecutters theme, but I do love the look of the cardboard castle & getting to attack attack attack!

I'm sending about half my nerds to friends, half to randoms. I'm almost never defending my houses (I do defend castles), lol, but I am also trying to be a vulture. In random towns I usually deploy just one nerd to one house, but when I see a random town that looks abandoned, with lots of smoking holes, I attack as many buildings as I can, one nerd each. I like it that soon with three castles my nerd production will be up to about 35 every two hours. I'm super-addicted to deploying nerds, lol. In a month I'll be sick of it.

Is there a trick to the "defend cheater"? Have the quest to use one to defend and one to attack. Attack worked fine, used one to defend but didn't register for task. THANK YOU. I thought it was just me and was like, I would like to nominate that picture of Patrick to represent my feelings in this update overall. I am battling a cold and all the brain fog is preventing me from getting any kind of grasp on this thing. Oh well - just keep tappin' along.....
