Is there a trick to the "defend cheater"? Have the quest to use one to defend and one to attack. Attack worked fine, used one to defend but didn't register for task. Click on it in the top right before clearing your town. It tells you to tap anywhere on the screen.

Click on it in the top right before clearing your town. It tells you to tap anywhere on the screen. Did that, no dice Poop. Thought that was how it worked for me. If I click on the little shield-with-cheater icon in the very top right, I get a popup that says "No buildings are under attack or wrecked!" This indicates that's how it goes, but I can't test it completely until someone attacks me, sorry.

If you leave the town by quoting or going to friends, your revenges clear out.
Is getting revenge the same as raiding friends or raiding neighbors?

Perhaps try again?

The described worked for me when I had more attacks in my town. Perhaps try again? Have done it a few times now. It clears the attackers/fixes bldgs but task never gets credit. May have to submit issue w/EA.

I have done revenge attacks... it depends on whom you are getting revenge. If it is a random attacker, you get the random town loot. If it's a neighborino, you get the neighbor bonus (or at least I did).

It seems to work the same as a normal attack, just pointing you back to the rando (or neighbor) that attacked you. Might be useful for finding non-neighbor towns that have recently cleared their castle if you want to squish one.

Thanks for all the great info & advice guys! +1 I'll follow the visit neighbours, attack 5 houses, 1 nerd each from now on. I was a bit eager with my attacking at first I think, but we have till October to send our nerds out to flail around with wooden swords, so it makes sense to spread them out to help more neighbours.

I don't like that we can only save up limited nerds. I would rather hord a bunch of them and then visit and attack all my friends in one go. Now everytime i hit the limit, i better go attack. Makes the thing a bit more of a grind than I would like.

Wow, good info, thanks! I raid friends towns too (plus I think those random towns are so damn ugly!). This is a really complicated update with all the updating of skins and buildings you can do, but I don't play Coc so maybe that's why..

I thought it was just me and was like, I have a case open with EA for this, from other sites and EA support it looks like quite a few are impacted. Will update when i hear something. They say up to 48 hours. Can i speed them up with donuts?

What use are the skins? Do they help in defense or attacks or anything? I haven't reached that far in my game, and I'm not quite sure what to do with them in the guide. I just unlocked the first two skins. Homer's skin allows him to do jobs for elixir. I'm assuming this is the same for Bart, Lisa and Marge. The barbarian's skin (Homer Barbarian) does not give elixir as rewards. As for the skin levels, I upgraded Homer to level 5. At level 2, his 24 hour task earned 22 elixir, at level 5 the same task earned 25 elixir. The one hour task yielded the same reward, and I didn't notice the other task lengths. To level up a skin, go to your castle and scroll down. As stated previously, you don't actually spend the gold, but you still must unlock the level by pushing the button. Hey, sorry about the building. This is embarrassing. LOL

OK, question about prizes and skins. Is that based on cumulative gold or gold on hand. In other words, I had to spend gold to upgrade Barbarian Homer, which reduced my gold level. Wizard Marge unlocks at 5000 Gold. Did the money I spent on Homer's upgrade effectively increase the amount of time it will take me to get Marge? I suspect it did, which means that getting prizes will require a balancing of what to spend and when depending on what you need or want.

Anyone know what the shield in the top right corner means? Mine is always at 0.

I don't think u lost the gold for the first skins (or u shudnt have, at least); the gold accumulates and you don't have to spend it, just reach the goals for the rewards.

Anyone know what the shield in the top right corner means? Mine is always at 0. I was wondering the same thing. At first I thought it was your number of pending attacks, but mine has been stuck on 1 for a day now. I think it may be your towns "Defense Level", or the number of extra hours it takes to destroy your building. Just an educated guess, though.

username5641 I leveled up the Homer skin to level 6 and got an extra 1 elixir for the 24 hour task reward (26 elixir on the 24 hour task). I'm guessing you earn a tad but more elixir for each skin level. Edited to add: just got Homer to level 7 and he now earns 27 elixir on a 24 hour task.

I bet you are right, my castle is currently level 4 and the next level increases town defense by 1, so if it goes up then I think we found our answer. Thank you! edit - just leveled my Barbarian Castle up and now I have a 1 next to my shield, just as we expected.
