" Here's where the fun begins.", Han Solo, Star WarsHomer the Heretic Airdate: October 8, 1992. Episode # 9F01 1st appearances: God... Oh, if only God were a playable character! Get on that, EA!
Oh boy, I missed a lot while I was out of town! Sorry to hear you were sick, glad you are better, darned thunderstorms, and lastly... LOVE the character shots, the brown house transparency (you really are a stickler for detail!), and all the other touches you have added. Damn good work, mattperiolat! Well, I figured if decors were going behind buildings, you best be able to at least position them right. So, you turn things off and let them be seen. Speaking for myself, I have been taking a breath here. The crashes are part of it, but really I just needed to spend my time working on other projects. Coincidentally, having all the adults then all the kids in SF go to prison as part of the last quest chain has given me the time to just put the game down for a while, something I have enjoyed. But, I know another level will be coming soon and I really want to finish season 4. Be back at it soon enough.

" Well, well. Look who it is - Mr. 'I Don't Need Alcohol to Enjoy Life.' We hate him, right, fellas? Moe, gimme a beer. Hey, everybody, Homer's back!" - Moe and Homer, DufflessDuffless Airdate: February 18, 1993. Episode #9F14. 1st appearances: Duff Brewery (new model), Duff Executive, Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Wiggum Duff Brewery: If you want to spend the donuts, place on the bottom most open land plot to the right of the river with the entrance oriented down. Run a road left to right in front of the Brewery. The clock featured in the episode will only run when Duffman is inside the Brewery with a task. Yes, folks, it's good to be back. Occasional crash bugs aside. I just wish I came back with an episode that had more to offer. The good news is that is soon to change. A few real quick things - thanks to EA's level 34 update, we now have Springfield High School from The Way We Was and Sherri and Terri starting from Homer's Odyssey in the game. For myself, I am using the skeleton offered by the Springfield Map featured way back in the beginning and have place Springfield High School at the top of my map right below the lower left corner of the Springfield Sign. Sherri and Terri will cost you donuts, but the financial return is worth it, plus they are in multiple episodes. Make sure you have enough, but I recommend their addition. Second, my town is in the midst of a reorganization with the new buildings coming in, so I may be replacing older photos. Stay tuned on that one. Third, yes, as long as I am playing the game, no matter how hard EA is making it lately, the guide will continue. The posts may drop from time to time with other activities, including employment, but I suspect you all will understand that. For now, I intend to do as much as I can. Really would love to be done through most of the seasons on DVD/Blu before Season 25 starts, but we shall see. For now, forward! Into our next episode!

Last Exit to Springfield Airdate: March 11, 1993. Episode # 9F15. 1st Appearances: Ice Sculpture, Painless Dentistry, Dr. Wolfe, Crusher, Low Blow, Quigley, Strikebreaker skins for Grandpa and Jasper, Robot Worker, Dr. Joyce Brothers, The Horney Toad, Nudes at Eleven, Adam and Adam, Fake Vomit Inc. Ice Sculpture: Given it's a prop for a McBain movie, I just put mine next to the Movie Set. If you have a preference, feel free. So much stuff in the episode, including names for Burns's thugs, but aside from the Sculpture, nothing added to the game. I would think Painless Dentistry might be added in in the future along with Dr. Wolfe, but it's not a priority. Next time, so it has come to this... a minor vacation/recap.

So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show Airdate: April 1, 1993. Episode #9F17.
1st appearances: None.
I got nothing.
Absolutely nothing. Even in the new animation between the clips, nothing new was added to the game that was reflected in the show. Unless one assumes the clip that may or may not put Kang and Kodos into official show continuity. I mean, how can the family remember something that happened out of continuity? Plus Kang and Kodos are or will be in the game, so...
Next time, in jokes galore.

The Front Airdate: April 15, 1993. Episode #9F17.
1st appearances: Bobby Mindich, Brooke Shields. The Adventures of Ned Flanders tag at the end also gave us the Rod and Todd Pray task.
Two characters, no new buildings. Not even a decent look at the High School exterior. Aside from renewing the request for Itchy and Scratchy International and the Civic Center, there is nothing here.
Next time, the event we all wanted... and then could not wait for it to end.

Whacking Day Airdate: April 29, 1993. Episode #9F18. Oh Whacking Day, Oh Whacking Day, Our hallowed snake skull-cracking day We'll break their backs, Gouge out their eyes, Their evil hearts We'll pulverize Oh Whacking Day, Oh Whacking Day, May God bestow His grace on thee. - Ode to Whacking Day 1st appearances: Superintendent Chalmers, Scottish Lass, Sandbox, Springfield Christian School, Evil Homer skin, Ninja Homer skin, Practice Snakes, Olde Springfield Towne Barney skin, Fort Sensible, Squeaky Voiced Teen (Current Model), Whacking T-Shirt Stall, Whacking Mugs Stall, Whacking Stick Stall, Barrier, Barry White, Miss Springfield, Snake Speakers. The episode also featured Ninja Homer's Twirl Whacking Stick and Fake Whack Pretend Snakes tasks as well as Miss Springfield's Open an Event task. Ninja Homer: Miss Springfield: Miss Springfield - Open an Event: Fort Sensible, if you have it, should be placed on the left side of the river, facing down, two squares above the street. Place a Squidport Fence angled up and down to the left of the fort entrance and a Squidport bench angled up and down to the right of the entrance. To decorate the Simpsons House for Whacking Day, place Ninja Homer's Snake behind the backyard fence facing down. Then place the Purple and Red Snakes in front of the fence two squares apart with the snakes oriented left to right. Place a Green Snake one square below these two oriented left to right. Finally, place an additional Purple Snake against the back wall of the Simpsons House. Place the Snake Speakers in the Simpsons front yard. You may alternatively store the Kiddie Pool and place them there or place the, behind the pool. I prefer the second option since the jobs boost is too good to give up by placing them in storage. Alternatively, if like myself you only got one of each color snake and want to keep the Simpsons yard free, find an open space and place the Ninja Homer Snake at the top of the chosen space, then one square below, place the Purple and Yellow snakes two squares apart. Finally, one square below, place a Green Snake. To set up Town Square for Whacking Day, store all hedges and benches on the upper half of the square and all but one tree. Also store the bench on the lower left part of the square as well as all trash cans. Place lower left tree against the street and place the two existing hedges above it. Then place the Mugs Tent and tree to the left of the sidewalk. In front of the tree, place the T-shirt Tent. Place the Bats Tent to the right of the sidewalk. Finally, Place a Whacking Day Banner at the entrance to the Square in front of the statue. Any additional tents may be placed as you wish. You may also want to place barriers between the buildings to block off street entrances to the Square. Town Square - Normal: Town Square - Whacking Day: The next time we have a nice quiet clip show episode, remind me not to complain. I nearly got writer's cramp just from taking notes on this one. Seriously, it is just a monster in terms of analysis and then figuring out how to do everything. I know my directions might as well be Greek to some, so reference photos will be added for all Whacking Day layouts. But aside from the Snakes to give Ninja Homer a high payout task and the Speakers, nothing is really worth leaving out, decor wise. Just something to consider. And, ya know, given Chalmers just came out, one would think I took a break knowing he was coming to time it this way. But trust me, I do not work for EA and this is just dumb luck. And while we're on the subject of stuff for EA, explain to me how we got Miss Springfield and not the Scottish Lass? If we're going to be sexist, at least give us the hot model. Eh, maybe my thing for redheads is showing here. Next time, Marge goes to jail and all we get is a Jimmy Carter statue.

Marge in Chains Airdate: May 6, 1993. Episode #9F20.
1st appearances: Hot Dog Cart, Hibbert Medical Clinic, Judge Snyder, David Crosby, Sofas 'n' Chairs, Guns for Sale, Savings and Loan, Men's & Women's Fashion, Springfield Women's Prison, Phillips, Tattoo Annie, Jimmy Carter Statue, Springfield Electronics, JiMarge Statue.
We get our first exterior look at Hibbert Medical Clinic, but given it's off model, I think we will save it for another time.
Aside from Judge Snyder (we HAVE to get the Courthouse someday, right?), I'd say there is very little we are likely to get from this episode. Then again, when President's Day or the 4th of July rolls around again, who knows? Maybe some malaise may come to Olde Springfield Towne.
Next time, send in the clowns.

Krusty Gets Kancelled Airdate: May 13, 1993. Episode #9F19.
1st appearances: Rainer Wolfcastle, Gabbo, Arthur Crandall, Johnny Carson, KBBL Television Studio, Crazy Old Man, Bette Midler, Hugh Hefner, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Elizabeth Taylor, Mr. Johannson, Luke Perry, Museum of Sandpaper, Pillow Factory.
Well, aside from introducing Wolfcastle, nothing from this one in game. I know some folks would like Gabbo in game and there is certainly a building to tie in with it, I just dunno if I see it.
Well, been a long ride, but that's the season. Gotta admit, I'm already looking ahead a bit to season five and more classic stuff. But I think I'll call it for the night, come back tomorrow with some layout suggestions based on the map for the season 4 alterations and we will go from there.
Until next time!

Season 4 - Putting it all together
I do not want to spend a great deal of time rehashing the more detailed instructions and photos already done. So, a very quick (Kwick?) Cliff Notes of what the town should look like in terms of what goes where, at least as of Season 4.
Starting from the top left corner and working down, we have Kamp Krusty. Below that should be Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Below the Power Plant is where Olde Springfield Towne should be, but if you have it, Fort Sensible goes for now. To the right of the fort should the first of (currently) two four arch bridges over the river. The first is Springfield Bridge, meaning on the right bank, before the bridge, is the stop sign from Homer's Odyssey. We'll come back to the right bank shortly. For now, we continue down the left bank.
Next up, moving down, is the Burns Estate. Below the Estate is Springfield Cemetery and Springfield Pet Cemetery. Below the Cemetery, somewhat appropriately, is our second four arch bridge, Springfield Memorial Bridge. At the end of the street, where the road meets the coast, is where The Frying Dutchman should go on Squidport tiles (Thanks again, EA, for making modelling so easy). This completes, for now, Springfield's left bank.
Starting on the right side of the bank, where the mountains border the land, is where a rough Springfield Park can be placed. We will focus on it more later, but we did see it in Marge vs. The Monorail, so at least staking out some land is a good idea. We then have a large skip all the way down to Springfield Bridge (trust me, we will be begging for the land later). Across the street from Homer's Stop Sign is where Town Square should be placed with the Town Hall directly to the right of the Square as seen in the photos. Along the top left edge of the Square is where Android Dungeon can currently be placed. Butterfat's, if you have it, can also be placed in this area, either next to or above the Dungeon, as final look and placement have not been established.
Continuing down the river on the right bank is the duo of Moe's and King Toot's. Across the street from Toot's to the right should go Howard's Flowers, if you have it. With or without Howard's, the Library is also here. If the measurements are right, the Libraryshould roughly line up with the Town Hall. Across the street from the Libraryis Legitimate Business Men's Club. Coming back to the bank, the next street below Moe's is the Aztec, if you have it. Below the Aztec is the Hospital. Below that is the Wax Museum with Duff Brewery next door. This completes the right bank.
Going back to Town Hall and to the right, if you have the money, is where the 50 Ft. Magnifying Glass is roughly set. The outline in Marge vs. The Monorail should allow you to place the Popsicle Stick Skyscraper. After the Glass to the right will be Jake's Unisex and Herman's Antique Weapons. This should give a rough skeleton to downtown Springfield.
Finally, we have residential Springfield. Springfield Elementary is our buffer between the two zones, across the street from Herman's. Below the School is the Church. To the right of the School is all the residential housing for Springfield. I personally have placed Evergreen Terrace (Flanders/Simpsons/Brown House one block below the street leading to the school with the Skinner House and Milhouse's House on the street to the school. One block above these two residential blocks is where I have placed the Bad Dream House with the Retirement Castle next door. One street above that is where the High School is located. Above it all, between the mountains and the residential is the Springfield Sign.
Last but not least are our greasy spoons and entertainment. Kwick-E-Mart is still kind of floating around, but I have it in the block below Evergreen Terrace. To the right of the residential block is where I have placed the Bowling Alley, Krusty Burger, Gulp 'n' Blow, the Putt-Putt Course and Springfield Downs. The order is, right now, irrelevant, as long as the Downs is currently your furthest east building.
We do still have "floaters", buildings the locations have not been locked for, such as Duff Stadium, Coliseum, the Prison and, for now, Krapable Apartments. I'll keep my eyes open for clues, but feel free to free form on those.
Like I said, this is all opinion based and, as you can tell, REALLY expensive to get all the land and set things up. Personally, I think it is worth it to be reasonably close to the show, at least to date. I'm not sure how often I will do massive set up posts like this, but heading into the fifth season and nothing really concrete done in a while, I felt we were overdue.
OK, guess that's it. We will start season five with our next post! See you all then.

Well, back at it.
Season 5
Homer's Barbershop Quartet Airdate: September 30, 1993. Episode #9F21.
1st Appearances: Springfield Swap Meet, Nigel, Hotel, George Harrison. If you have the Outdoor Stage, Home has a Sing with the Be Sharps task.
The Swap Meet might make a good location to give characters other tasks, similar to the Outdoor Stage. Other than that, given we do have a Be Sharps task already in game, I do not know if we will get anything else.
Next time, The Bart, The.

Ahem... "BART, DO YOU WANT TO SEE MY NEW HOCKEY MASK AND CHAINSAW?!?!?" - Homer, Cape FeareCape Feare Airdate: October 7, 1993. Episode #9F22. 1st Appearances: Hedge Angel, Convertible, U-Tow Trailer, Terror Lake Billboard, Thompsons Houseboat. This episode also features McBain's Up Late with McBain task and Moe's Smuggle Endangered Species task. The Hedge Angel is tricky because it is supposed to go on the right side of the Flanders property. There is no space without pushing the house back and throwing things off, so a compromise must be made. Place the Angel on the left side of the property with the Angel facing left. For such a classic episode, I'm shocked we "only" have two tasks and one decoration. Chances are, probably because of this episode, so many people want Sideshow Bob as a playable character rather than the occasional visitor. I can see both sides of the argument, but I like the randomness of Bob as he is now, much like in the show. Besides, how many times can we have him do the Walk into A Rake task? Next time, party down.

Homer Goes to College Airdate: October 14, 1993. Episode #1F02
1st appearances: Nuclear Inspection Van, Escape Pod, Mystery Box, Springfield University, Dean Peterson, Nerds, Springfield A&M, Sir Oinks-A-Lot! Richard Nixon
Well, at least once a week, we get the box.
Seriously, the only thing from the episode we MAY get is Sir Oinks-A-Lot, maybe with the incredible revelation that he's Spider-Pig's father. Beyond that, anything else is a maybe.
Next time, we have the Rolling Stones killed.

Rosebud Airdate: October 21, 1993. Episode #1F01. 1st appearances: Bobo, The Ramones, Bobo skin for Smithers, Robo-Bear, Ninja Burns and Smithers skins, Snapdragon, Robo-Burns skin, Robo-Dog Smithers skin. The Snapdragons only appear in Martin's hand, but a single patch in the Elementary School's yard should do. Or, be like me and surround the one tree in the yard with them. This thing is loaded with potential skins for Burns and Smithers and who can resist a good Citizen Kane parody? Oh, and in case I forgot to mention it earlier, hey, EA, how about a sandbox? Next time, it's that time again...

Treehouse of Horror IV Airdate: October 28, 1993. Episode #1F04. 1st Appearances: Devil Flanders skin, Judge of the Damned, Benedict Arnold, Lizzie Borden, John Wilkes Booth, Blackbeard, John Dillinger, The Starting Line of the 1976 Philadelphia Flyers, Homer Donut Skin, Gremlin, Moleman's Gremlin Car, Uter, Vampire Burns skin, Zombie Smithers skin, Vampire skins for Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, Janey, Martin, Homer, Marge, Grandpa, Maggie. Episode also features visable tasks (Show his Wrath and Sign Up Clients) for Devil Flanders. Devil Flanders: Devil Flanders - Sign Up New 'Clients': Devil Flanders - Show his Wrath: I love this episode. This and next year's are probably my favorite Treehouse episodes. And there is so much EA can do with this episode, it's stupid. Honestly, if we do not get a Vampire Burns skin this year, I for one will be very surprised. Heck, the Gremlin could just be a donut buy creature. EA has done a lot of those. And then, of course, there's Uter. He would be a great addition just all around, especially since there is a real desire for more kids in the game. Well, we will see. I need to take a break, recharge myself and my iPad. May be more additions later tonight, promise to do a photo run in a little while. Just permit me to take a very deep breath please.

Marge on the Lam Airdate: November 4, 1993. Episode #1F03. 1st Appearances: Jittery Joe's Coffee Shop, Ruth's Convertible, Sh tkickers, The Hate Box, Weather Station, Badlands Sign, The Seething Sisters, Grand Chasm. Weather Station is easy if you do not have the Springfield Sign, a cheat if you do. The Sign eats land and sight lines for lunch, making it really difficult to just pull it out far enough to make the set up look good. So, as the Mythbusters say, I reject your reality and substitute my own. Without the Sign, just place the Station in an open space oriented with the grill facing left. Place a one square shrub one square to the left of the Station, place a Tree to the right and a four square shrub behind. If you like and it lines up, you can also have a road run up towards the spot, then fork right toward it, stopping one road space away. If you do have the Sign, try and find the sight line so the Station will roughly be in line with the 'R' in Springfield, then apply the directions. Make sure to place the Station at least two squares down from the base of the Sign, otherwise the shrub will not fit. I'm so glad I am doing this little archive of decors because I get to watch fun episodes like this one. Really entertaining and loaded with stuff that would be easy to add. Of course, EA will not add Ruth Powers because adding women would inspire other women and that would lead to anarchy. ... It's in Revelations, people!!!As soon as our difficulties are restored, we will resume our posting.

Bart's Inner Child Airdate: November 11, 1993. Episode #1F05. 1st Appearances: Trampoline, Krusty's House, Caution Sign, Brad Goodman, Mrs. Feesh, Ferris Wheel, Ice Cream Cart, Zesty's, James Brown, Springfield Zoo, Brad Goodman Statue, Do As You Feel Parade Float, Springfield Grocers. We get our first look at the Springfield Community Center and it's new model. Place it at a corner location, placing two trees to the right of the building and two trees running up from the upper right corner. Place brick walls around the top and right sides of the lot. My Zesty's is only now nearing completion, but place yours facing down on the left hand side of Town Square. In the spirit of this episode, I feel like expressing displeasure at EA locking the Ferris Wheel in on the Squidport. I sense I missed the Wheel before, but the idea that it can be moved around Springfield for different functions and fairs is logical, right? Ah well, they have not started listening to me yet, why start now? Oh, but in the event they are - we want tramamapolie! I mean kapapboline! Next time, why we avoid Squishy benders.

1st Appearances: Rub-On Tattoos, Junior Camper skins for Bart, Rod and Flanders, Bakery, Warren, Ernest Borgnine, Camping skin for Homer, Raft, Police Boat, Oil Rig Krusty Burger, Abandoned Camp.
If not for Kamp Krusty, we may have a chance to get the Junior Camper stuff, but the Krust got there first. Well, maybe we'll get the Oil Rig Krusty Burger for our waterfront.
Next time, mmmmm... redheads....

The Last Temptation of Homer Airdate: December 9, 1993. Episode #1F07. 1st Appearances: Zutroy, Stuart the Duck, Hibbert Moneymaking Organization, Nerd Bart skin, Mindy Simmons, Mindy's Motorcycle, Trout Hatchery, Joey Jo-Jo Junior Shabadoo, Phone Booth, Sir Isaac Newton, Col. Klink, Capitol City Plaza Hotel, Bellhop, Madam Chao's. Phone Booth: Place on cement slab in front of the Bowl-A-Rama with the phone oriented on the left side of the booth. Shame we got Dr. Hibbert's already, otherwise the HMO would be a funny addition. Could be the subject of a few jokes for the other side of the ledger after the NRA thing with Herman. Ah well. Speaking for myself, Mindy would be a great addition to the game, either for donuts or maybe tied in with the Plaza Hotel. She could have jobs at the plant or Hotel, could also give Homer new things to do as well. But, again, I'm biased, just like with the Scottish Lass, because of the character models. Mmmm... redheads... Er, ah... Next time, please oh please, EA, let this be a Squidport addition.

$pringfield, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling Airdate: December 16, 1993. Episode #1F08. 1st Appearances: Social Security Office, Dr. Henry Kissinger, Boardwalk, Mr. Burns' Casino, Gerry Cooney, Rich Texan (model), Gunter & Ernst, Anastasia, Raymond, Casino Burns skin, Robert Goulet, Lisa as Floreda skin. Boardwalk: Well, let's start with the bad news. This is going to take a while and financially, it is going to hurt. A lot. The Boardwalk should be about three squares across from beach out into the water. Assuming forced perspective is not in use, the Boardwalk should cover the visable and purchased part of the coast. The Houseboat should go at the north end of the Boardwalk with the Ferris Wheel one square below. The water facing side of the Boardwalk should be lined with Boardwalk Fence down it's entire length and Boardwalk Lamp Posts at the top of each square closest to the water. This is one of the oddest omissions from EA to date. One would think the Casino would have come in with the Squidport, but given the Frying Dutchman had the built in storyline, maybe the Casino got pushed off until later. Hopefully not too long as it can give Burns a new skin (maybe), an opportunity to cram everyone in Springfield into one building (again) and hopefully new tasks for Homer and Marge. Marge could easily have a 48 hour or longer task gambling, Homer could have new jobs with the casino and (please let this happen) a job which explodes the windows of the Casino called "Fight Gamblor". It writes itself, people. As for the Rich Texan, this is the first appearance of the model of the character, but I do not believe the character is really established until later, either Sideshow Bob Roberts or Lisa The Tree Hugger. Either way, I'm going to hold on to my donuts for a bit before covering him. But open for debate on this one. Gotta wrap up for the evening, back at this tomorrow with me cursing out EA for being so broke for something so cool.
