Very similar to the above comment, on another forum I am on I have a "bookmark" section in which I have quite the collection of thread references. Is there a bookmark section to my profile somewhere that I maybe overlooking?
STAFF EDIT: Go to the Actions menu at the top of the thread and select Bookmark. You will get a notification above Bookmarks in the menu at the top whenever the thread is updated.

Okay... Finally I thought of something that I wish this site had. I wish, when I was looking at a person' s badges, I could click on any of their badges to find out what that specific badge represented and/or how or if I could go about getting it. That would be so very cool IMO. +1 STAFF EDIT: This is not currently a feature available with the Awards plugin that we use. I can suggest that the developer at it for a future release. In the meantime, visit the Guide to Forum Awards/Badges and the Premium Badge thread to learn more about the individual badges that you see.

XD emoticon. It is one of my most used emoticons, along with and it needs one here. STAFF EDIT: There is a limited number of spaces for emoticons, and we are at that limit. Until we get a new smiley system in place, there will be very few edits.

When making purchases online I prefer to utilize my PayPal account. I didn't notice that as an option. Am I overlooking it? Or are there any plan in the future to have that as an option?
STAFF EDIT: Unfortunately ProBoards has no plans to offer paypal support at this time. Sorry!

Is there an easy way to get data from a spreadsheet into a format that the forum can handle?
I tried saving as html; but the forum choked on the table code.
STAFF EDIT: Sorry, HTML cannot be used in posts. You can use BBCode, however, which is very similar. I suggest using find/replace to change all of the < to [ to create the table.

Does Proboards support a role address? Or auto-forwarding of PM's? If so, maybe an address, like staff, could be set up that would forward to all active moderators. This way members would have to know whose actually staff to send an issue on. STAFF EDIT: Not at this time, sorry. ProBoards has group tags on their list for future updates, but I don't think that includes group PMs. I have made a feature request for this on the PB support forum. In the meantime, members can click here for a list of current Forum Staff.

not sure if anyone has suggested this but how about Chatbox its a live chat i used it in another proboard it can be handy when helping out other members
STAFF EDIT: This will not be implemented due to the potential for abuse. The Shoutbox feature is much harder to police.

I'm new here and really enjoying it. Pharrah sent me a link to the badges page which is fab. Could you add links under each badge so you know where to find the thread? Just a suggestion may I have a cookie please STAFF EDIT: This is not currently a feature available with the Awards plugin that we use. I can suggest that the developer at it for a future release. Don't know if this is within the limits of what is possible, or whether it's more of a ProBoards thing, but perhaps something could be added to either the Home page or the Login screen to say what to do if you're having trouble with your account? Perhaps with a link to some way (without being logged in) of sending a PM or flag to the staff? STAFF EDIT: Only members can send a PM, so a person would have to be logged in to contact staff that way. We do not have control over the login screen. If a member is having trouble logging in, they should still be able to browse the open portions of the forum, including the FAQ section where they can see the list of Forum Staff. I suppose they could post in the open Find Friends section and tag a staff member there if they need assistance without being logged in.

Could off-topic posts in Game Guides and FAQ threads please be moved elsewhere, after a reasonable period of time, to keep those threads more streamlined and easy to follow?
Perhaps some threads could even be locked, after the pertinent information has been provided, to avoid further off-topic posts? I've seen this done on other forums and find it helpful. I hate having to wade through pages of irrelevant jokes and rambling when I am just looking for a couple of simple facts.
STAFF EDIT: We are working on this now. It is a major and time-consuming process (this thread alone has taken close to 5 hours) so please be patient. Note that for many threads threads in the FAQ section, the important information is in the OP. You don't have to read the entire conversation following.

I hate having to wade through pages of irrelevant jokes and rambling when I am just looking for a couple of simple facts. That is on my Downtime Task List for this weekend. I agree! This thread is also on the list to scrub. I will bet no more than 2-3 pages of pertinent posts. And we are all guilty of the other 20+ pages. I suggest cleaning this thread, locking it, and then people with suggestions can create a new thread for their suggestion or question. And once it's addressed, the relevant posts from that thread be moved to this one. That should prevent things from being overlooked; and make it easy for people to find out what has come up before. STAFF EDIT: This is the official thread for making suggestions and will remain so. Off-topic posts can be moved out, but chasing down topical posts to move in would not be efficient. Hopefully the changes in this thread, such as staff notes like this one, will make it easier to manage.

Perhaps with a link to some way (without being logged in) of sending a PM or flag to the staff? Spiffshine if this is not possible, how about setting up a web mail account with auto forwarding set to the staff members preferred email? Then put a "Having Problems logging into the forum" link that opens a form that requires details on the issue; send the completed form to the email account. I suggest a form, as if you leave it to people to just send a problem you'll get 99 "Site not work" messages for every detailed problem description. Or add another open to all group, like the add me, for anyone to post questions and issues in. STAFF EDIT: Creating an email is possible. I will need a volunteer to maintain emails from the forum. I'm not sure about creating a form unless it is hosted elsewhere and linked here.

Just a minor nitpick, in profiles, it says "Web Site" rather than "Website". The latter is much more commonly used and it just looks weird as "Web Site".
STAFF EDIT: We do not have control over the built-in Social settings in the profiles. And the correct term is "web site" - two words.

This thread is also on the list to scrub. In the interest of making Spiffshine's life easier this weekend... Wait, Someone call 911. Spiffshine seems to have collapsed for some reason. Anyway, I created a new thread that lists the three types of badges roaming around here, with links to the existing threads. So if Spiffshine likes it she can sticky and lock that thread, unsticky the other two; and then there will be no more derailment of the actual "what are badges". Peruhomer and Ol' Gil Gunderson can update their posts as needed to keep the lists up to date; and we can still trash the threads without anyone having to clean them up. STAFF EDIT: Done (thanks to you)! Thank you for the great suggestion! Now perhaps some formatting in that post...

Does proboards have some type of auto email generator for new members? Some places send you a welcome email when you first sign up. If this is possible, we could create a nice, informative welcome letter.
STAFF EDIT: In progress...

If this is possible, we could create a nice, informative welcome letter. I'm not certain, but I think I've seen an option for that when I've been browsing the admin section on the test forum. I agree, it'd be nice to set up if possible. It would indeed be nice. In the meantime, the Welcome post could be updated to provide information about all of the new sections and features that have been added since it was created. STAFF EDIT: Done! Thank you for the great suggestion. See Welcome to the tstappedout.com.

Just saw something about this in the Tire Fire which is why I brought this up.
I know when people block someone they can't see what they post, but apparently they can see when said person is quoted. I know this is on ProBoards end, but would there be any way to bring up the topic to them and see if they can do something about it, or would be willing to attempt to do something about it? I imagine we can't be the only place where this is an issue.
Oh, and maybe I should have sent this via PM rather than a public suggestion... Er, I can't think logically right now as I don't have the brain power at the moment. If this causes trouble then sweep it under whatever rug neccssary.
STAFF EDIT: Request sent to ProBoards. Their official response:
So for anyone who has blocked someone, just ignore the quoted text. There is nothing we can do about it at the moment.

Hi everyone Is it possible to have a section where people who want feedback on their SF and KL can post their pics? I know there are wonderful "what did you do with" threads. I love those. But I also notice that feedback doesn't often come, possibly because of the "like" system? People just click like and move on? Or perhaps not enough people view the design threads?? So my suggestion, maybe it's too silly/hard to do is : we designate an area, where people post a single photo, and no one is allowed to click like and should offer comments. Or maybe even designate three reviewers each week. These reviewers would look at submitted pics each week and offer constructive comments. The reviewers can always be rotated. The reviewers could remain anonymous maybe? No unduly nasty remarks allowed of course. STAFF EDIT: Thank you for the great suggestion! We have reorganized that whole area, moving Contests to its own board and adding a Feedback area just for constructive criticism. See Feedback & Critiques.

I love the new overall with the blue bars between announcements, stickies, and regular threads. It makes thing much more organized and nice to look at. I only posted this here, because I didn't know where else to post it. A "comment box" might be nice so members can drop in comments about what they like and dislike. That might also be helpful to staff, ProBoards, and plugin developers because it would give them feedback on certain features. Oh, and it would also be nice if there was a way to send people an alert when the staff has addressed their suggestion here. STAFF EDIT: Done! Thank you for the great suggestion! The OP has now been updated to include a list of all suggestions and results. The person who made a suggestion is tagged (thus being notified) and a link to their original post is provided with a detailed staff response such as this one.

On my Mac with Firefox, the Quick links no longer look right. Screenshots/Design and Forum FAQ & Info are both 1 character to long. Looks ok on iPad. STAFF EDIT: Thank you for pointing that out. It would make Spiffshine berserk too. The text has been shortened to fit.

I have a suggestion! If subsequent suggestions are made, could mods send real cookies to the user who made a subsequent suggestion? As in actual cookies, not a badge? If we give addresses, they could vacuum pack the cookie and send them.
STAFF EDIT: Sure. We'll send some to your grandmother with a birthday card signed by you and all of your siblings too so she doesn't think you forgot her... again.
