I can't help but think that the 'Forum Games' section of the forum could have a more Simpson-y title. In the show there's the 'Noiseland Video Arcade' which could possibly work; although I feel as though 'Noiseland Arcade' would make a better title, since there are no video games here. Anyway, just a suggestion, and if the decision is made to change the name of 'Forum Games' then I'm sure others here could come up with a much better name than what I've suggested. STAFF EDIT: Done! Thank you for the great suggestion!

It's probably a fairly minor thing, but I thought I'd write it anyway.
I was just thinking, as the custom smileys don't show up on mobile (it just shows the code for them instead of them image), could codes be named to what the smiley is?
Some of them seem to already be like this (I think there's homer_smiley_emoticon), but some are like L57Cbvh7, and it feels a bit like a mindf*ck when you see them lol.
STAFF EDIT: Done! The smiley codes have been updated. Most now use the :colon: standard code. Old codes will still work due to some clever text replacement. You are welcome!

Can we get the tagging button in the quick reply box?

Could we please have a bit more mod-assisted organization in the General Game Discussion section? It's getting rather unwieldy in there. A collection of ideas: 1) Perhaps a single Help Me! thread for technical difficulties (and where individual threads can be merged when the OP of a new thread has been helped) would keep the total number of similar-but-not-identical threads down. 2) For a big update like Whacking Day, having a lot of threads made sense because it was complex, but there's no need for multiple threads about a minor update like this week's. It would be great to see all of the threads about a single update merged into one that had the date of the update and something else identifiable (like May 24 In-Game Update with Donut Sale and Log/Stump Changes). 3) Could we maybe have a sub-board in Game Discussion about design? 4) Once an update is over (whether it's a special event that has ended or has simply been superceded by another update), it would be fabulous to move the threads away somewhere, to an archive sub-board or something, so that the main pages of Game Discussion threads can remain relatively streamlined and timely. STAFF EDIT:1. A conglomerate thread might not get the attention it deserves and be easy to navigate when a user has a technical issue, but identical issues can be merged into a single thread. 2. We merge threads with identical topics frequently, unless the original thread is a dinosaur. If you find 2 identical threads that have been missed, please bring it to the attention of a staff member. 3. We tried this, but it didn't work. There were only 2 threads that were candidates for moving and sub-boards are more difficult to navigate and maintain. 4. These threads will fall off the first page and into oblivion on their own.

Is there a way to choose which forum awards (of the ones we've received, obviously) appear on our profiles, like we can with the ProBoards badges? It would be nice to be able to hide them on our own, without having to ask the staff.
STAFF EDIT: Sorry, that feature is not built in to the plugin. It has been submitted to the developer for a possible future addition.

I like the "back to top" & "go to bottom" features, but is there any way to add a "go to first unread post" feature?
STAFF EDIT: Click the NEW icon to the left of the thread title to go to the first unread post in that thread.

I would love to see a contest where people cosplay their favorite task. Fat Tony in the hot tub, smithers whipping it or just a good barney Binge recreate your all time favorite task or you could do a task a week and have people submit pictures of themselves doing the task STAFF EDIT: You can start a thread like this if you wish, but note that all submissions must follow our Safety and Privacy guidelines.

Not sure if this is the right place, but didn't want to start a new thread. What's the best way to contact mods or report a post if someone has gone down the creepy and abusive root? STAFF EDIT: To report an offensive post, click the Gear icon located at the top right corner of every post. You can also PM a member of the Forum Staff. See also, When and How to Contact Forum Staff.

If you click on the participated button, you can select a thread and then mark it as forever read if you don't want to participate in it any more.
Is there any chance we could get that feature as one of the actions in the groups menu?
STAFF EDIT: This certainly seems possible, since the option is available from the Participated threads list, but we do not have control over the built-in Actions box options. I will submit a feature request to the ProBoards staff.
UPDATE: Response from our friend Ricky at ProBoards:

I would like a checkbox on my profile that when checked automatically added the little drunken homer to the end of all my posts ( ) to indicate that I have been drunk posting again. I think there are several forum members besides myself that could make use of this functionality. Also when posting in this mode it would automatically add a notification to my profile so the next day I had a convenient list of my drunken shame. STAFF EDIT: The best solution I can suggest would be to edit the status line in your profile. Good luck with the shame.

I think the Birthday Party Thread should be stickied. That thread slips down the page an awful lot and we don't want anybody missing out on cake, do we? Besides, it's a genuine de-lurker tool. STAFF EDIT: Done! We have even appointed a passionate and talented Birthday Fairy to make sure these things are never missed.

I would like to request a "Report PM" option. We have this for posts that are inappropriate; but not for PM's. I have, unfortunately, had a reason to discover this feature is not available. STAFF EDIT: This feature is not available because there is no way to view another member's PMs. You can report offensive PMs by forwarding the message to a member of Forum Staff. At the top of the PM conversation, click the Actions menu and select Forward.

Perhaps there could something added to the FAQ section summarizing what resources are available to distressed members? (reporting problem posts, forwarding problem PMs to staff, figuring out who the staff are, reporting technical difficulties, etc, etc) If there is an interest, I would be happy to start a draft that could then be taken over and revised by a staff member before being posted, if that makes things easier. Cookie, please? I seem to be short one. STAFF EDIT: Done (thanks to you)! See When and How to Contact Forum Staff. See also Meet the Staff for a current list of Admin and Moderators.

I don't know if this is possible or if it has been already suggested, but I have recieved two notifications telling me I have been tagged in a specific thread, but upon clicking the link I find I don't have permission to access the thread. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I get far too excited when I get notifications andit irritates me to find I can't access the related thread.
STAFF EDIT: It is possible that the post you were tagged in was removed by the OP or by forum staff for objectionable content. There was an issue a while ago with tagging leaks from private boards, but that has been fixed.

Can members have the ability to block PM's based on post count? I've offered assistance in another subforum and I'd rather not get members with 0-5 posts who joined that day PMing me asking me questions. I really only intended to help forum members, not rands who join just for a single purpose and never post.
So, for example I'd be able to activate something that would mean I'd never receive pm's from anyone with less than 10 posts.
STAFF EDIT: Nope, not possible. You are going to have to check profiles yourself for that information. We did, however, add the Joined date to mini-profiles. Perhaps that will help.

Just a query - when I first signed up the AD and Tire Fire were both inaccessible without going to my profile and requesting access. Now - as soon as I clicked it, it accepted me. Wouldn't it be better to actually screen this rather than just accept automatically? You know keep out the riff-raff...
And please swap the reply and quick reply buttons around. I type into the quick reply box then always click the bright yellow reply button and then get taken to the full edit. *muppet*
STAFF EDIT: 1. Done! Android's Dungeon now requires new members to be accepted manually. Members with 0 post counts are not admitted. Update: The Android's Dungeon is now closed, but if/when it reopens, it will have increased security.
2. No. Sorry!

Dont know if this was suggested or not but one thing that bugs me is that we don't have a notification choice at the top on this forum. Like it would be much easier to have the notifications beside Home, Help, Search, Members, Profile, Messages then we could have Notifications beside messages it would be much easier than having to go on my profile and having to go to my notifications. If this is possible it would be a good idea in my opinion.
STAFF EDIT: This feature is already available, but requires some precision. Instead of clicking "Profile" for example, click directly on the little bubble showing the number of notifications to go straight to the notification list.

Can we get a subscribe to thread option?
I want to subscribe to the Springfield Rumble thread so I'm notified (on here or by email) every time someone posts directly after me. Lets me maximize my outgoing damage.
STAFF EDIT: Go to the Actions menu at the top of the thread and select Bookmark. You will get a notification above the Bookmarks menu any time the thread is updated.

I think we need more badges. I mean, there's already several of them, but I think we could use a lot more. STAFF EDIT: This forum will never run out of new badge ideas! If you have an idea for a new game, contest, or badge please post it on the Pics & Recreation Suggestions thread.

I hope we can have more laughing smileys one day. We have a few now but they're all huge and, even though I like them, they mess with formatting of my post, like this: . I'd like to see some smaller ones in the future, like this, if possible: STAFF EDIT: There is a limited number of spaces for emoticons, and we are at that limit. Until we get a new smiley system in place, there will be very few edits.

Not going to lie, I'm only here for the cookie since, much like the useless premium items in the game, I'm addicted to collecting stuff. Could I suggest bringing in a more extensive sticker/smiley collection? I realise it's probably been asked for before but could I suggest letting this be my suggestion? They don't all have to be animated, although that is fun, just have more options.
So this post was pretty lame, but does it earn me a cookie? If not, I suggest that the forum makes it easier to get cookies.
STAFF EDIT: There is a limited number of spaces for emoticons, and we are at that limit. Until we get a new smiley system in place, there will be very few edits.

Is it possible to have the 'like' bottom in private messages? I know AlbionGal and LSLeong will agree. STAFF EDIT: Unfortunately, that feature is not available in ProBoards. You can like your own public posts though, which is kind of fun. Wheee!

Suggestion from the Crazy Cat Ladies/Gentlemen thread over on The Couch. I was told it would find a nice home here: While we're petitioning things, can we also petition that the " :kitty: " used above, or something similar, generate a cat icon? There's one for and one for , so why not one for kitty? That would rock. Preferably one where Snowball 2 is hacking up a hairball. STAFF EDIT: There is a limited number of spaces for emoticons, and we are at that limit. Until we get a new smiley system in place, there will be very few edits.
