Prolly been mentioned WAY too many times but I really think you should at least HAVE to insert an avatar before you post. Seems many come here to make an account, drop a question, and bounce. It would prevent fair weather peeps just trying to create an account so they can get a person to unharp them.
STAFF EDIT: We won't be requiring avatars any time soon, but for those of you who help with Harpies, Springfield/Krustyland merges, etc. - you are not required (or expected) to help everyone. Once a solution is found and advertised around the interwebs, you are bound to have many requests. You are well advised to set your own standards for eligibility.

The photo challenge competitions and forumfield projects are brilliant ideas and add much needed life to the game at times. Anything like this I'd happily welcome although I'm not exactly bursting at the seems with ideas. Maybe a place where people pay homage to The Simpsons by doing specific things like completely recreating an entire area in Springfield or reenacting a particular scene or iconic moment from any episode as best they can, although maybe that already exists within the realms of the photo challenges. I think a cool challenge could be to duplicate real buildings/places. For example, I've seen a few 3D buildings reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright's falling waters house Having a weekly challenge to create something that pays homage to a real place like the Pyramids of Giza, Mayan ruins, famous sky scrapers, gardens, etc. would be fun to see the results of and give long time players that are out of ideas something new to try. STAFF EDIT: Done! Thank you for the great suggestion! See Off the Map: A Curation of Unconventional Design.

I think we should defo do an award for the best 3D designs. There's some talented people out there that deserve to be recognised. It will also give some others that push to try and create some 3D work, if they've not yet tried it STAFF EDIT: Done! These types of designs will also be covered in the Off the Map: A Curation of Unconventional Design contests.

In the forumfield project...... Perhaps add a date on them. So for example indicate. " week 4. March 31st to april 7th". This way you know if you are out of date, too late to the party or in time to submit a post/entry. STAFF EDIT: Be sure to check the first post in the contest thread. Current contests are generally announced and linked in the sidebar at the left side of the forum. Also, you can visit the Forumfield Project and find the unlocked thread at the top. NEW! One of the admins should make a Michelangelo award for the Springfield palace thread. STAFF EDIT: SPOFA now has The David Award for art submissions and a Gummi Venus de Milo for contest winners:

Not sure how permissions work around here, but maybe we could have a more "private" sub forum where active members can share pics or more personal stories if they so wish.
Maybe set a 3 month, 150 post requirement for access or something...
STAFF EDIT: This is a good suggestion. We will add it to the list for possible future additions.

My initial suggestion was to ask for an index for all the "what have you done with..." threads, but then I thought "I can do that"... So here it is What have you done with... INDEXIts a work in progress but at least we have somewhere to start our search for where to post our designs (or look for others...) So the suggestion then end up with, can we make it a sticky? STAFF EDIT: Done! Thank you for the great suggestion and for putting together the Index!

I know our mini-profiles have a lot right now, but it is possible to add a tag member button? The button could either take you to a new post with the person pretagged, or it could have a popup that comes up with the @[username] in it so the person can copy it. Just a thought since a lot of people don't know each others usernames and newer users don't know how to find them. STAFF EDIT: Try using the icon to search by display name and tag that person automatically.

My brain is a little fuzzy today so please excuse me if this has already been asked or already exists. It would be nice if we had a break-down of who is "in charge" and what the titles mean. Maybe in the welcome section. I know we want to have a community that doesn't focus on certain types of power dynamics, but it would be useful. Especially to new members, or old members who don't pay attention (that would be me). There seems to be a fairly frequent change in the guard, which is just fine, but it might be helpful to know where to direct questions. I'm comfortable here, but I know on the other board I would have felt a little intimidated to send questions or concerns if I hadn't interacted with the mods or administrators. Are there people assigned to specific boards or sections of the board for example? It might help direct traffic as the number of people participating keeps growing. STAFF EDIT: Done! Thank you for the great suggestion! Meet the Staff. There is also a link in the sidebar under "Community".

Any way we can tag threads for merging to help the mods? There seems to be quite a few duplicate 'What have you done..' threads in the screenshots sub section lately. Hopefully the index will help, but maybe the forum savvy ones here can help you out a bit somehow?
STAFF EDIT: You cannot tag a thread, but you can post in a thread and tag a moderator. You can also report the thread using the Gear Icon on the top right corner of each post and enter "Please merge" as the reason.

Can we make one and move all the related WD topics there feel like ( not necessarily sure) some good non update threads are being buried and a lot of duplicating threads of the same WD thing. Not complaining just a suggestion no big deal we don't get one.
STAFF EDIT: The staff will try to merge duplicate threads as much as possible, but for the time being we have decided not to create sub-boards for special events and simply let the conversations flow naturally with less-popular topics falling to the second page. Too many sub-boards tends to make the forum disjointed and difficult to navigate.

Since there is a massive influx of people needing eggs and people giving eggs, how about a temporary egg request forum? Those giving eggs can make threads and if they have a "to egg bomb" list they can provide the list and let people know as they egg bomb them. Those needing eggs can make a thread and get oddles of egg love from us done with the event and us who are egg rich.
STAFF EDIT: Done (thanks to you)! Thank you for the great suggestion and for heading up such a massive effort during the Whacking Day event.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to make a new thread or just put a suggestion here. If its wrong please move or delete as you feel most appropriate.
I was thinking it would be nice to have an optional column in the members tab that included your origin ID. That way when you get a request you can look and see if it is someone on this forum. I've been adding people and deleting old friends but sometimes I forget who belongs to what orgin ID if they, like me, have a different one on here.
Just a thought
STAFF EDIT: That is a great suggestion, but out of our control. Sorry! However, we have added a custom field to your profile where you can enter your Origin ID and it will show up in your profile. Go to Edit Profile > Personal and scroll to the bottom just below Device/Platform.

Maybe someone could do a how-to for new users so they know how to use this forum. ( and learn how much this is really a PG site, @lakoo987) Also I think we could try and make it so we can joke around with our genders, A.I, we be able to type in our genders or ask the mods or something to add an option. I hope these are good ideas, but they would take a lot of work, sorry. STAFF EDIT:1. Done! Thank you for the great suggestion! See Guide to the Forum for Newbies2. Sorry. Gender options are out of our control, and no.

I almost created an Introduce Yourself thread in the off topic board. Thought it might be useful and a bit less daunting for new members to come and say hi in it. I imagine this place could seem pretty hard to join in with initially. Might be good thing to have and to sticky? Do I get two cookies...? STAFF EDIT: Done! Thank you for the great suggestion! See Welcome to TSTO Player Forum.

I wonder if it'd be useful to have the "Welcome to TSTO" thread in the General Game Discussion board? I know it doesn't actually fit there but I'd imagine the majority of new users visit that board before any others. Might make them more likely to de-lurk?
STAFF EDIT: Done (kind of)! New members are now forwarded to the Welcome thread as soon as they register.

Once again I come to this thread when my mind is a little hazy. If this is better suited for another thread, or my skimming has led me to overlook something no worries.
I think it would be nice to have some kind of "award" for people who have gone above and beyond to help their neighbors and community during Whacking Day. Kind of like Whacking Day Robin Hoods or benevolent benefactors. This event has been really tiring for a lot of people and there are those among us who continue hand out large numbers of eggs oftentimes throughout the day just so their neighbors can finish the quests.
I know that I have several people who have helped me significantly - and I probably would not be able to finish without them. I'm sure there are other players with similar stories. This is really kind of an incomplete thought so I'll stop now.
Edit: This should be something that people receive after Whacking Day. I would hate to see people who are doing good deeds swamped with pms and messages during the final days of chaos.
STAFF EDIT: Thank you for the great suggestion! Unfortunately, this did not happen in direct relation to Whacking Day, but the upcoming Thumbs Up badge will offer a way for members to thank other forum members by nominating them for this award when they rise to occasions such as these. Please stay tuned.

with summer around the corner and a ocean side or squidport themed event coming it might be cool if we had a space to leave messages for other members like a "yearbook" or i hate to use this word but "wall" could tie in nice with the Episode Lisa reinvented herself while living at the Flander's beach house.
Or since folk love to troll and have fun with others a best photoshop of the week to see who can make the most convincing fake update content
STAFF EDIT: 1. A thread where you leave messages for other forum members can be created at any time, if I understand your request correctly.
2. This could end badly.

Marge,
Also just noticed:
post count under a users' avatar separates using european form i.e. 1,000,000,000 However, the like count does not, i.e. 1000000000
Just a uniformity suggestion...
STAFF EDIT: Done! ProBoards has fixed this issue.

Not sure if there is enough support for it, but how about a daily/weekly episode selection for people to discuss in the Couch area. For example, we could have had the whacking day episode since whacking day (the actual day and not the event) is approaching. STAFF EDIT: Please feel free to start up episode discussion threads any time in the Channel 6 TV discussion board.

I really think the forum should have the auto scroll to the left not on top. Also a simple 'top' button would help Navigation can be difficult at times. Otherwise add more emoticons (ralph & bob) STAFF EDIT: Thank you for your suggestions! 1. Unfortunately, we do not have control over the navigation bar that floats down the page as you scroll. That will always be at the top. Sorry. 2. There is a "Back to Top" and "Go to Bottom" link at the bottom of each post, right below the signature. 3. There is a limited number of spaces for emoticons, and we are at that limit. Until we get a new smiley system in place, there will be very few edits.

This might seem completely nerdy and uninteresting to other people, but recently I've been having conversations with several other members about books. I was wondering if there's a possibility that we could do some sort of book club? Or some kind of off-topic space to discuss these kinds of things. Whenever a book thread pops up there seems to be a fair amount of interest in the topic, however since those conversations are relegated to one thread they become really hard to follow. They generally turn into several ongoing overlapping conversations about one or two authors. I have also written down a ton of recommendations from other posters. It may also be a space where we could discuss comics, since there also seems to be a fair amount of interest in that as well, and Android's Dungeon seems to serve a different function. I don't know what it would look like exactly, but I would be more than willing to help organize or whatever now that the semester is over. STAFF EDIT: Done! Thank you for the great suggestion! See Springfield Public Library.
