Haha no @themeparks4life and JoeBeezy sales tax in Tennessee is 9 1/4 percent. That's really high. The decimal might be in the wrong place, I will take the blame. I need the extra money for gas and groceries since the tax is so high. Wait, are you saying 9.25% is really high? I would be ecstatic if it was that low in the UK. 20% here. 20 fucking percent.

And as to the price of fuel in the UK... £1.40/litre, that's about $2.25 US!!!

Haha, no Solar Dragon the US and and UK tax systems are really different. There was a little scuffle on our east coast a couple hundred years ago, taxes were a big part of it. We sometimes refer to that disagreement as The Revolutionary War. @themeparks4life and I are talking about sales tax, the tax that is applied to items you buy in a store. If I go to the store and buy an apple for $1.00, I really pay $1.09 or $1.10 on that apple. Each state in the United States determines that sales tax for themselves. This is not a good example, but it's kind of like a Value Added Tax. Maybe someone with a more formal economic background knows a better example. I'm sure I pay 20% (or more) in taxes every year when I add in being taxed for income, for research grants, property taxes, ect - on top of the sales taxes I pay everyday.

Same concept as you explained. If we buy an apple for £1.00, it would cost £1.20.

Same concept as you explained. If we buy an apple for £1.00, it would cost £1.20. Our tax is similar but not quite the same. Here, the VAT is included in the price, so the apple would be priced at £1.20 on the shelf. But in the US, the apple would be priced $1 on the shelf, but when you get to the till, you'd have to cough up an extra $0.09 in sales tax. I think that sales tax is only applied when the customer buys the item, whereas in the UK we'd be paying VAT for each step of the way (eg manufacturer, shop, customer). So that's why stuff here generally costs a lot more than it would in US

Help me understand this please.
How do you get the custom badges that you all have made. If members buy ad free, then the can select from the proboards official badges.
If a member wants one of your custom badges, are you using a separate code to add it in manually?

If a member wants one of your custom badges, are you using a separate code to add it in manually? You can purchase the official ProBoards badges for $1-5 each, but they do not add ad-free views to the forum. They are badges only. If you purchase 100,000 ad-free page views, we will make you accustom badge. Just send me a PM after your purchase goes through and I will get the ball rolling.

Question: How do we add the border around a badge (the white and gray border)? I am trying to create the icon for a Premium Badge to purchase.

Just give the picture to Spiffshine and she'll add the border for you. Thanks! Will do that now! Just to emphasize, supplying an image is ok. But if you aren't artistically inclined enough you can describe what you are looking for and the art department will supply some options.
