Fraggle I did my best to put my submission as easily understandable as possible. I dont want the badge to be so easily obtained as is with the Krusty Badge. While humor is broad, I find assertiveness to be the complete opposite. Not everyone can be as assertive as Lindsey Naegle can be, you have to have the attitude and deliver it in a subtle yet aggressive way. I have re-watched all her episodes enough to know what comment can qualify for a Lindsey Naegle Badge. I have seen that with the Krusty Badge, people quoted and tagged comments that some I found funny and others I did not (I saw the latter alot more than the former) regardless, as stated previously, humor is broad, some people find things more amusing than others. I have a Krusty Badge but the reason for obtaining the badge was one I myself did not even find remotely funny and was quite surprised to have been quoted and tagged to be given a badge, regardless I am thankful that somebody found me funny which I guess is the reason why some people are more willing to give the Krusty Badge to other people so willingly. I have also seen many people who have been forcing to get the Krusty Badge by even making public posts asking for such, in this case, this is not what I want Lindsey Naegle to be about. I want it to be more of a challenge to be obtained, because when it is a challenge, the badge is so much more rewarding when you do receive it. This is what I want from the badge, not to force assertiveness but to just be yourself, and if it just so happens that a comment you said gets recognized by Lindsey Naegle herself and she gives you a badge, it will make the user feel more accomplished that "Wow, I finally got her badge!" rather than it being some sort of "I must have every badge that this site offers!" obsession lol. A little bit of challenging is all the more fun right?

One of the first posts i ever did on the forum we all used to frequent, was asking where everyone was from... I was amazed at the real global community we have... So... What about a "globe" badge... But... You have to show something in your Town that is from your city or country (or..maybe from your favourite place) Could be a french cafe? A US baseball diamond? The pyramids of Giza? Island of Tahiti? Well you get the point... So. My suggestion is a GLOBAL COMMUNITY badge Specifics: open to all What: post a screen shot of something in your town that represents a city , town or place you love Reward: a little cute globe Why: cause all we hear about the outside world is bad stuff What else: dont make me submit a project plan and funding proposal... -emoticon

mitsuhoney, As part of your proposal I was wondering how you would handle blow back or complaints? From what I understand this badge would be awarded by one individual forum member based on their personal definitions of subjective categories. If this is an incorrect understanding please correct me. I imagine there would be a fair number of people who would be upset if their nomination was denied. How might this affect forum dynamics? Do other's opinions and feelings matter when it comes to awarding this badge? I'm not judging, I'm just curious. While we may not all agree on the criteria others use for Krusty awards, ultimately everyone, in theory, could or will earn a Krusty since humor is subjective. Why Fraggle, it would appear from your comment that someonoe is afraid they might not be getting a Lindsey Naegle badge. Do I now get a Lindsey Naegle badge? Who is this Lindsey Naegle? Nevermind, I don´t actually care who she is, just give me the badge. Peruhomer, it is disturbing the lengths you will go to for yet another badge. You almost make JoeBeezy seem quite and refined.

mitsuhoney, I understand what you are hoping for. However I think it become an object that enhances our differences, rather than celebrate our similarities. In this very thread there was recently an example of this. Someone was being a PITA about more badges. I took the opportunity to give some sample badges for that kind of behavior. Spiffshine deleted my post; and the ones that quoted part of it in this group. Not because they violated Probaords TOS. Not because they were inappropriate. But because they fostered I'll feelings in the person whose poor behavior I was commenting on. I thought the person I targeted was mature enough to admit, or at least realize, he was being an ass. I was wrong. I can see people deliberately doing this just to get a badge. And then complaining if they don't.

A Bad Example: I dont see how a badge would be taken so poorly with symbolizing differences rather than similarities. If anyone who complains about not being able to get a badge on a forum then clearly they are not mature enough to just let it go and not really worthy of such a badge in the first place. I am sorry, but I have dealt with many childish people in real life and anyone childish enough to bitch and moan about not receiving a badge cause they think they are being assertive or something of the like, I cannot help but laugh at how ridiculous they would be. What people need to realize is that in life, you cant always have it your way, not everything is going to be given to you on a silver platter lol. People on forums will always complain or disagree with someone or something. That is just how it is. I am on an Asian pop music forum and I got to tell you that the amount of cattiness and terribly rude people on there is sometimes so unbearable, I wonder why I have yet to have been banned or given up on that forum for speaking up about my honest opinion about someone or something as politely as I could while still being called crude words because I had a "different" opinion to others. It's just how it is, and if this badge does get approve and people are not happy with not being able to get it so easily, well then they need to learn to grow up a little bit if they are going to complain about a tiny sticker under their profile. If I am in charge of giving out said badge, I want it to be looked at as a rewarding thing, not something that just anyone can say "I want the Lindsey Naegle badge! Please somebody quote and tag me so I can get it!" or if people can't agree with my suggestions, then perhaps they can add in some of their own opinions on it? By all means, please do, I am more than glad to listen to any feedback or opinions you have.

mitsuhoney - I think what A Bad Example is saying is that with only text, the tone of many messages is hard to determine. What one person finds funny or assertive might be mistaken as judgmental or douchbaggy without vocal inflection. These types of misunderstandings happen all the time on forums. Can you give an example of a type of comment that might qualify? I am having trouble wrapping my head around a badge made for a specific personality... especially a personality trait I am not entirely familiar with.

Spiffshine: I understand that completely. And as I mentioned before, if I see a comment worthy of a badge I will know its Lindsey Naegle worthy lol but I mean something along the lines of the last post that LSLeong posted here, if I can find more around the forums I will bookmark them and give you more examples to better understand what I mean.

Here is an idea for a long term badge. One of the rare things we have in the game is a reason to interact with our neighbors. And from reading posts, I'm not the only person who thinks so. My idea has two parts. In the first part we have a thread where people say it's ok to post images from there town. In the second part people post images from those towns that they think is nice. Or funny. Or "Holy Jeebus MelDesigner, another 3D masterpiece!" And the person whose town the image is from gets a badge. Maybe different badges for well designed, funny, or just that cool. Have the badges accumulate like the Krusty does. This would increase visitations from neighbors, and provide a fun way to say nice job. My inspiration for this was visiting Fraggle's town and seeing this. She approved m posting the image. Has no idea yet that I made this post.

Wait is is opposite day?! A Bad Example is suggesting a badge idea that is not presented in a mocking tone?! I really like this idea, I also like the idea of some sort of cap. That way if there is a mad rush and one or two towns suddenly have several "amazing" features posted in 24 hours there will be a break in badge fever. By the way, does this mean I get the first one? I'm kidding...well...maybe...no I'm kidding...I think.

I've had an idea. I know we have a lot of contest going on... So how about a monthly contest? Viewers choice Springfield of the month? Where people submit their panoramic view of their town and people vote for their favourite. Whether it be based on design, detail, 3D work, reality... Maybe introduce a gold medal badge or something? Just an idea, I know it's something I'd love to take part in, hopefully others may too

We have had 101 panoramics posted in petergeenen 's thread, which is a big achievement, but to say that has been from over 6 months, and from both here and EA, we could have a lot more. Something like this could really help others to share their designs. And for those who need help with panoramics, other users could help make (the art department etc, i'd be up for helping also), contributing to employment in a difficult economic time

I just thought it would be nice for forum members to be rewarded for their overall hard work. I know it's took many of us a very long time to create a full town that we are so proud of. It's great that your willing to help with panoramics, and hopefully, if my idea gets the go ahead, a few others out there would be willing to help too.

I'm sure its already been suggested, maybe even happened already, but I think a Photo Challenge built around music could be good. There are quite a lot of musical tasks available to us in our Springfields... Adding onto this, since it's summer (at least here in England) and music festivals are very popular at this time of year, I thought it'd be fun if we had a photo challenge to create a music festival in our Springfields. We have a lot of tasks that could work, Otto playing guitar, Be Sharps, Lisa's sax etc. I think it could be fun. I was actually researching some festivals, and though my knowledge of the Warped Tour is limited, apparently it's a sports and music festival, so maybe something like that could work? If we also include sports as an option then it opens up possibilities for more characters to be included. I don't know if you need a badge to go with your idea, but I made a couple of quick ones, just in case: Or maybe something a little different: (Yes, I know this image is too big for a badge, but I had to throw it in there)

Didn't try, but I think it would be fun: What happens if you don't tap exclamation-marks for not story-related tasks (we should know from our perfect walkthroughs in this board) or if you tap them but send the characters to other tasks? I think we'll have a few characters with bubbles walking around or a very Full task-book. It's just an idea for our great moderators. Perhaps there is some kind of Otto-badge for laziness, but I don't have a suggestion for any rules to get that. What do think?

I think I had 12 the most at one point.
