There seems to be a lot of discussion about contests. I enjoyed the pirate day submissions. They were fun, silly, and didn't require any special talent other than being willing to participate. The art contests are amazing for me to watch, but even if I had any artistic ability, I'd be far too intimidated to submit anything. I can see how the judges strive to be fair, but the fact is, I have no artistic ability. It's okay, I can't sing either. Now bring on a cooking contest? I'm smoking the competition! Well at least making a good showing. One last thing, I checked out the writing contest, but I don't have the ability to make the comic to go with it. Sometimes the rules do seem a little daunting. They probably aren't, I just may need to ask for technical clarification in the future. I applaud the effort to give everyone a chance at something!  You don't have to make a comic. A TripTYCH is fine. If you really want to make a comic I can point you in the direction of some easy and really fun to use software, but a comic is not required. It just became the norm. |

I actually submitted an idea similar to lakooo's a month ago where it was a monthly comic book challenge where you had to create a comic book scene of sorts (each month would be an issue), make a short story, and the winner gets the old Android's Dungeon badge or the Lenny badge if they don't already have it. I just realized we all lost our Android Dungeon Badges, Noooooooooooo! Why! God Why! Why did u have to punish us in such a Cruel way by taking away one of our Precious and Sacred Badges Noooooooooo!!!!!! |

I think the Android Dungeon badges should be reused somehow, it was one of my favorite designs.
Now for my idea.
"In Costume" photo challenge - for October, how many characters can you capture in costume. It's one of those count them out and get them all. Rather than have one person who gets the most win? Which really encourages late entries and cheating by seeing what everybody else does first. The "committee" can determine how many there are and then every member that gets them all, gets the badge. Also, don't have people spell out how many they got. Have them PM the number/list to the committee member in charge of that challenge. Sure, people could possibly count how many are there but at least they will have to do the work instead of just copying.

I think it would be great to have a badge for Halloween, give it to every member whose participated in the Halloween event in the game and also who has changed their avatar and/or signature to a Halloween-inspired theme!  Another thing I would like to add is a possible glossary or index to all the badges, how to obtain them, what they stand for, etc. I feel I get lost on the amount of badges we have and have no idea how to even get half of them even when I hover over them, its kind of a mess. I think a main pinned topic for a badge glossary would help alot of forum users such as myself figure out what the badges mean and how to obtain them. Not sure if this has already been mentioned by somebody else, sorry if it has! |

The buzz badges have been retired  To get the cookie badge, go to the forum suggestion thread and make a suggestion on what you think could improve the forum |

i have a good sugestion for the month october ( Halloween ) do a badge for who comes online by the days when its Halloween Halloween a good time for the badge give the people time to come online then in 3 days and as subsription by the badge called i was at the Halloween event 2013!

I deliberately didn't do a comic when I submitted my entry. And editing your photos isn't required either. I did that for laughs. And doesn't a Dalek improve everything? |
