The Basics
During the Whacking Day Event, you enter baton mode and whack snakes that have appeared around your town. There are prizes for you to win, and in total you need to whack 22500 snakes to get them all. When you whack the snakes, either an egg will appear or a snake will appear. Snakes accumulate to earn you prizes, and do not go away when you have won a prize. So, when you collect 150 snakes to get Fort Sensible, those 150 snakes stick around to help you earn the next prize. One snake will appear every eight minutes, whether you are playing or not, and you are capped at having 50 snakes in your town at a time. Eggs are for leaving in your neighbors towns where they hatch into either a snake or donuts. There is a 1% chance that eggs will hatch into donuts (thanks Duder).
Prizes All buildings have a 24 hour build time and each character has a quest line. Donut costs are 5 donuts per 50 snakes left to obtain. So, if you have 150-101 snakes left for Fort Sensible, it will cost 15 donuts. If you have 100-51 snakes left for Fort Sensible, it will cost 10 donuts. If you have 50-1 snakes left for Fort Sensible, it will cost 5 donuts. Fort Sensible: 150 Snakes/15 Donuts Expert Whacking Day License: 400 Snakes Balance Beam + Gymnastic Lisa: 1000 Snakes Snake Rock: 2000 Snakes Snake Statue: 3000 Snakes Duff Stadium: 4250 Snakes Pet Snake: 5500 Snakes Bare Chested Willie: 7500 Snakes Springfield Coliseum + Derrick Tatum: 10000 Snakes Sleep-Easy Motel + Miss Springfield: 12500 Snakes Thanks to Spud for the following table. Here is how many snakes you will need at the end of the day to get either all of the prizes, or all of the prizes and all of the whack boxes.
Whack Boxes
Whack Boxes are obtained after you whack 13500, 14500, 15500, 16500, 17500, 18500, 19500, 20500, 21500, and 225000 snakes. Thanks to Duder for the Whack Box odds listed below: - $750: 35%
- $1000: 30%
- 1 donut: 20%
- 2 donuts: 10%
- 3 donuts: 5%
When I ran through the Whack Boxes on Simsopoloy, I received (in this order): - 1 donut

- 2 donuts
- 1000 money
- 750 money
- 1 donut
- 750 money

The best way to collect snakes is to whack them in your town (which respawn at 1 per 8 minutes with a max of 50), whack them in your neighbors town, and have good neighbors that will place eggs in your town. However, you can buy items that will spawn snakes every 4 hours. These items are snake rocks, snake stump, and the hollow snake trunk. With one of each of these, you can spawn 60 snakes every 4 hours. You can also buy unlimited amounts (until you hit that fracking 3000 item cap) to spawn a lot of snakes. When they are ready to spawn they have an orange snake over them. If you have snakes in your town at the moment, you can't get them to spawn. Once you are able to tap them, snakes gather around the item and go out every which way.
Premium ItemsNinja Homer Practice Snake: 150 Donuts Lumpy (NPC): 55 Donuts Snake Stereo: 50 Donuts Purple, Red, Green, and Yellow Practice Snakes: 10 donuts a piece Snake Rocks: 40 donuts Snake Stump: 55 donuts Hollow Snake Log: 75 donuts Lugash's Gym: 175 donuts
Non-Premium Items
Lisa's "Release Snakes" Task
I have a small test town, so I decided to do the test. Two ipads next to each other. One with my test town (only myself as a friend). My normal town on the other. First off, I cleared the test town of all snakes. Leaving me with a total of 65 snakes. Then in my town, I set Lisa on her task in my test town. After a few seconds, the number of snakes in the test town, went down to 60. I saw it happen, and thought she had stolen the snakes. But, almost immediately after that, 5 snakes appeared. Remember it's a small town. I can practically see everything. So my conclusion is. She does not steal from you. She sets snakes free. Free to be whacked by you again. You don't lose snakes this way, you just have to work a little harder.

This is great, what have you won in the whacking boxes?

Feel free to use the info from my building guide in the EA forum. I can't copy it over here ATM, but most of the info is posted.
Edited to add: What is the major spoiler? Whack boxes? If so, they aren't anything special given the odds of actually attaining donuts.

Nice start to the guide!
Snake rock is sort of lame prize for 2000 snakes. Of course the best ones are the new character ones (Coliseum and Motel, so I better get to it). Gymnastic Lisa seems weird if one doesn't get the gym. It would be a rather random balance beam in my town.
Anyone know if the Pet snake prize (5500 snakes) is the same one (Lumpy) you can buy for donuts right now? And has anyone gotten Lumpy? Does it do anything?

Great guides everyone! D'oh-tastrophe Inc., you might want to expand a little on how to enter into baton mode. That the player has to click on the snake icon on the upper right corner. This might not be apparent to everyone *cough* lakooo *cough*

I know some readers might not want to know all this ahead of time. I'm updating the first post with prize images now. If you see anything you need over there feel free to use it.

Great guide, but I don't see anything related to Whacking Day in my account after the update (e.g., Whacking Guide, Prizes) other than the 24 hour tasks for Homer and Lisa, which are currently still going. Does all of this Whacking Day related stuff appear after Homer is done with his 24 task? And am I to assume that people who are already whacking snakes used donuts to speed up the earlier tasks?

Yup, apparently only starts when Homer and Lisa are done. I'm with you; whacking day doesn't start for me until tomorrow morning. Serves me right for failing to check this board last night for the first time in a month.

Hey D'oh-tastrophe Inc.. Here's another item you might want to add. I posted it on another thread, but think it belongs here too. My theory about when you send Lisa to "Release Snakes from Another Town" is this. Lisa actually frees snakes from your neighbor so there are snakes for visitors to whack. While this sounds fun, it's at the detriment of your neighbor's snake count and could be horrible for those who are already struggling to get snakes. So in the meantime, I will only release Lisa on Other Springfield or a neighbor with a really high snake count.

Home and Lisa have finished there 24 hours tasks and I have sent Lisa to visit neighbor to tap out snakes. However, when I visit my neighbors, I don't see any snakes slither around at all. I can see eggs that others have left and I can place eggs as well.
I have also collected my first 50 snakes and gotten my first 150 Snake prize.
What am I missing in this process....

I forget that us degenerates have been spoiled with spoiler information. A part of me wishes I had no clue about this update, and just had my mind blown. It's all good, my mind was blown a little earlier! I am a bit disappointed with the Whack Boxes, especially with the change in the bonus levels.

Anyone received a donut (or more?) from eggs left in their town? I've cracked probably 200 eggs and haven't seen one yet.

Question about visiting friends: I was in a town today and saw the cash pile on top of several snake logs. Does clicking on this free snakes into that town for the person? Or does the fact that it was money mean that they were already filled with snakes?

I'm pretty sure the money means the nest is full. I'm not sure if it will release the snakes, though, since there is a limit to how many snakes can be in a town.
