Photo Challenge: The Irish Hangoverends Sunday 03/24/2013 midnight EST winner announced Monday 03/25/2013This week we are trying a more aesthetic approach to the Photo Challenge. We want to see a town (or at least a city block) ravaged by St Patrick's Day revelers. Be creative, use your decorations to set a scene. Parade gone wrong? Cops (not) on the scene? Drunks amok? Basically the craziest street scene you can come up with. Qualifying pictures must have:
- Drunks
- Wild abandonment
- Moe's Tavern
- O'Flanagan's Pub
- 3 other businesses (min)
- St Patrick's decor (provided and/or created)
- Photo Caption: no more than 100 words to describing your scene.
This contest will be a combination of popular vote and judges voting. One key aspect judges are looking for is clarity of the scene. Does the picture reflect your description? NOTE: As usual, PCC reserves the right to modify the rules / point structure mid-challenge should an adjustment be necessary. Should a change occur you are permitted to resubmit your entry.

Good theme for this week. I think I deserve bonus points for being Irish and for being massively hungover (did this the day after Paddy's day) meaning I truly embraced this weeks theme I kid. Link to bigger picture: i.imgur.com/8UEQ8MI.jpg?1The scene: Springfield. The date: too drunk to remember. Quimby kicks off the Patrick's Day festival in front of the shamrock garden but alas the Springfieldians vastly surround the 2 pubs. An incredibly lacking parade takes place, with various residents adding music, superheroe-ism, balloons, and more. Drunken antics pour into the street in typical Paddy's Day spirit; Homer on a barrel,Smithers walking on (dyed green) water, Edna chilling in the smoking area, etc.Promotions run high: Duffman with beer, Squeaky teen with burgers and Nick with discounted treatment. Speaking of treatment, ambulances are scattered across the scene to carry out a plethora of stomach pumping.More horrifically, Barney thought it would be a good idea to drive drunk and crashed his car into a tree. Amidst all this madness the police are,of course, munching away on donuts, but at least we have Marge protesting to keep the city in control ... yikes!
Wasn't completely sure what to write for that so I hope it suffices. Its a smidge over the word count but I didn't go overboard. I can cut/re-do it if its wrong/too much. In terms of meeting the criteria: Drunks - check Wild abandonment - (I hope so) Moes + O'Flan's - check 3 businesses - Springfield Downs (because us Irish love to gamble and watch the races), Lard Lads (because where else would the police be), and Krusty Burger (because fast food when drunk is a necessity). Patrick's Day decor - Irish flag, shamrock made out of hedges, wishing well (the leprechaun is roaming around too), green water (although I can't really take credit for that), empty beer kegs scattered around, plus Tom O'Flanagan is walking about cleaning and issuing new glasses while Homer has a shamrock flag. Sin sin, agus go n-éirí an t-adh libh. (that's it, and take care) edit: somehow a bunch of spelling and grammar messed up when I posted.

Saint Patrick's Day paradeThe town centre is properly sealed off and Wiggum & Moleman seem to keep things under control, but at least two drunks made it into the parade, so they might be in for a surprise. With everyone’s attention turned to the parade Kearny take a chance to vent his anger on the Jebediah statue and it appears Ralph is about to start a fire…

I finally figured you can avoid the leprechaun chase by putting the well in storage... When you take it out again the leprechaun will follow wherever you want him to go...

Should just fill the well with Jamesons and drop the lil lep off in there and gather the drunks around to watch!!

This week was a tough decision. Each entry showed a lot of work. The judges have conferred and reached an agreement. This week the camera award goes to...... Stu! Congratulations Stuart! We felt your picture was the best repesentation of the chaos following a drunken Irish holiday. We especially liked Barney narrowly escaping the car crash. They were all great entries, and we wish to thank our other participants. At this point the Weekly Photo Challenge is going to take a little break. Our next challenge will be on April 9th, 2013

Yaaaay! Thanks a million. I feel like Jennifer Lawrence when she beat Meryl Street for Best Actress and she said "Omg I beat Meryl"... Omg I beat Anarkstroom Seriously though, appreciate my shiny new camera and its good to have a break from the photo challenge. It really messes up your task pattern. Having read the comment below I take back what I said. I love the photo challenges and definitely do not want to take a break from them
