How to post a photo from an iDevice, using the imgur app: (other photo apps work similarly, see this thread on photobucket) Step 1 - Take a screen shot. To do this press the device hold button and power button at the same time. Step 2 - Choose image to upload NOTE: if there is a user out there that could photoshop this picture of Fozie onto the screen of the picture above, it would help make this illustration better. Thanks. Step 3 - Upload image through imgur app. Step 4 - Once uploaded you are almost done. On the next screen you will see "get embed codes" click that. Step 5 - Choose photo size as medium Step 6 - Copy BBC code. This will save the image info on your device clipboard Step 7 - paste BBC code into your post. That's it you're done. Respect to H1, for showing me the way.

I had no idea there was an imgur app. I was using the website on Safari, but it didn't have sizing options. Do you have to have an account for the app because you don't have to have one on the website.

I have one and again, found it much more Apple friendly than Photobucket. Resizing web pics is a snap with their page too.

I have a flickr account that I use for my photos. I like it because I can delete the photo from flickr and it will break all links on all posts even if I was quoted.

I use Photobucket there an app for that too But it doesn't allow you to choose smaller sizes to post. I always choose the medium size from IMGUPR. The signature I have right now was the square thumbnail size.

Yes it does when you click edit on the picture you can select the size you actually want it to be Unless it cos im using a computer at the moment? I'll have to double check the app, but ive re-sized quite a few pics now I couldn't find that option in the app. Will have to look again. The option is there in IMGUPR.

Must just have that option via a pc only then I think the app had that function, and it was removed. If you search for it, there are online instructions for changing he default upload size in settings. Which the app does not currently have.

Actually, the photobucket app still has that option. In "settings" under "upload" the image size can be set. Below is the same maple donut photo uploaded from my camera roll as 320x320 and 1024x1024. There are sizes in between and larger too up to "full resolution", which I didn't want to try for this thread. So the only difference to imgur is that you have to decide before uploading how large it should be.

Thanks so much for the instructions! I've been playing with my phone and Imgur all day! The big step for me was just finding out the two buttons to push to take a screen shot on your phone! Here's one attempt.

Just noticed that with the mobile version of these boards the two pictures are exactly the same size, but when I switch to desktop version they are not.

It took me a minute (a day), but I tried this through imgur. I deleted one of my older pics and today it has been removed. Not sure about quoting...back to experimenting...

And I can't find any option for this.

^^ version 20122013.01 (that's what it says in the app, in the store it's 2.4.8. but I have no update available so I am guessing it's the same thing)
But I am still on iOS 5, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Thanks for the instructions! Maybe knowing how to post will motivate me to reorganize my Springfield, it's been in sorry shape for a while.
