I have been playing Tapped Out for a year and I am so excited for this years Christmas event. I have a much better grasp of the game, the strategy and the characters (I actually didn't watch the show before, now I do). Does anyone know when this years Christmas event is scheduled to start?

Based on last year, we're likely to get a some kind of Thanksgiving tie-in -- not a full-on event -- maybe later this week to carry over into next week. IIRC the quest lines were spaced out a bit with the turkey taps, the holiday itself and all. Based on other 2014 holidays, expect a lot of re-issues.
Could be another episode tie-in before the show goes dark for the holidays, although I think the last 2014 show is Christmas-themed.
And then we're likely looking at around December 9th for Christmas 2014.

I'm hoping for the first week of December with snow ...Sprinfield looks good in white. Crossing my fingers for the snow to remain till the end on January.
But with EA being so secretive we won't know till it happens. Looking forward to a fun Christmas Event though.

I Am also very excited for this! hopefully it will be enjoyable and the hope of snow staying for a few months that i have will more than likely not happen but alas it will still be an exciting update!

I didn't mind the Wheel. I thought it was a fun idea to get everyone the Christmas Decorations for the houses without making them pay. Using the wheel for NEW items was more problematic.

I'm really hoping for snow in the first week, no wheel of doom, but perhaps we could place presents like last year, I loved dropping them off in my neighbours towns.
But the tweet from one of the tapped out creators said that the new event will be crazy huge, so we are to expect some awesome treats this year!

I'd like to have the Fire Department, Dalmatians and firemen. They could put fires out caused by Christmas wiring gone bad or the pudding candles overdoing it. Lots of action and color...
On a different subject: I can only use the half bottom part of the smileys when using the computer & not at all from iPad or like any post either. Probably something wrong in my end; mention it just in case.

I'd like to have the Fire Department The Springfield Firehouse was mentioned by spAnser to be in the files WAY back, with some jobs for some characters to be firemen I think. Could see it implemented. It also looks like we could be seeing Hal Roach Apartments this coming winter, with Jacqueline Bouvier coming this Thanksgiving event. Would be nice to see how players could use the Retirement Castle with it as well. |

I'm just going to say if you go to the build menu the image for the river now looks frozen and what looks like snow is around it. If I wasn't on an iPad I would post a pic. But brace yourself winter is coming.

The best chance for any lights this year is the Wiggum's house cause we have seen lights for it in the game files. I'm thinking the only reason they wanted us to wait is so they have at least one new house to give lights to. Cause last year the only new house to get lights was the Skinner house. While the past houses had their lights re-listed for people who missed out on them. Like me, in 2012 the only lights I couldn't get were Edna's apartment and Nelson's house, cause I didn't get to those levels yet. But then last year they were back. |
