FXX Marathon

I'm old enough to where I remember the original broadcasts of the season one episodes that are running now in the chronological marathon on FXX, but some of them I haven't seen since their original airing.

It's proving to be a reminder of the sheer depth of characters that could potentially be used, including obscure tertiary characters who had slipped my mind, e.g. Sherri and Terri's father who worked with Homer at the power plant (and who, like Smithers, was redesigned for later episodes.) I'm not sure how much nostalgia TSTO will go for, particularly if much of the new content is geared toward promoting upcoming episodes, but it was a reminder to me of just how many non-celebrity characters there are in the hopper.

Then again, I'm still holding out hope for Menthol Moose, but I'm not betting on that one happening. The closest I'll probably get to that is a reissue of the Laramie cigarette machine.

But, particularly with the back catalog launch on FXX, I'm somewhat surprise that there wasn't a cross-promotional effort made for that within the game, particularly with the last few weeks having nothing new from EA.

Dladly buy Menthol Moose, great mascot for Canadian players! Hope EA listens to you.

Menthol Moose was a parody of a Camel cigarette advertising character, Camel Joe, that has been retired for 17+ years now. So I'm not guessing it's high on the TSTO list, but you never know.

One character who I forgot was from so early in the run is Bob from Bob's Roundup RVs. He was a great example of how much depth the show can have for even minor characters, and him plus the RV dealership would be great to see in the game.
