Personally, I find it hard to believe that the monorail will be put in... however, there is a chance for everything, and I think it will be an expansion.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? Will it be an event, expansion, a decoration or will it never happen?

Will it be an event, expansion, a decoration or will it never happen? 1. First of all, nice paper bag head. +1 2. I would love for it to be an event and/or expansion. I haven't been around long enough to know how events actually go (I missed the Stonecutters event by a couple of weeks ), but using my powers of deduction (and recalling the episode Marge vs. the Monorail) I can sort of see how it could be either. I'm only at Level 16 but fast gaining XP since I play every morning before I go to work and as soon as I come back home from work (eep). I'm so over-eager that my progress in the game, is separate from my XP. XP wise Level 16, but I still haven't unlocked Marge! :/ It's okay. I like the time in-between where I am visiting neighbours, getting inspiration, envisioning my own future town and planning ahead before I unlock a certain building.

I voted for what I think it will actually be versus what I wish for… and that is a building/decoration way to small to be convincing, like the mall. But, I wouldn't mind being pleasantly surprised, as I am sure you all are to see me actually weigh in on a game discussion.

So much potential for the mall, and they copped out. They're gonna do the same with the Monorail. It'll be a decoration and everyone will be like "oh... is that it?"

I tend to think the nuke option MAY have to do with a monorail as an actual thing in the future, not just a decoration...
I would actually prefer a decent decoration because I am loathe to destroy my town to accommodate the kind of monorail system I would want.

I chose "event" because they "need" to do something big in August, which brought us KL last year (IIRC). Moreover, back in late December during one of the Christmas "mini" quests with Homer and Lisa checking to see for "spoilers" on the internet for the coming year, it was mentioned in game about a playable Sideshow Bob (irrelevant to this present discussion), the Stonecutters, and the Monorail.
Given that the Stonecutters became an event (and a great one at that), I would venture that the Monorail will be an event given the two criteria mentioned: 1) the need for something big in August, and 2) it was mentioned in conjunction with what became an event.
While only time will tell if I am right, there is not much to refute the logic....
...oh wait, we are talking about EA here, logic does not apply

Then allow us to "group all" and to move our entire SF a few squares to recenter it. Then we could put the Monorail around it (thought we would also need to be able to "group part" of the town to make the Monorail go through the center of town). I would tear up my central park to put in the Monorail though (if it was a worthy decoration

I said somewhere else I want to be able to select the entire town en masse and move everything together so the monorail could skirt the edges of town if that is what we want, without having to shift everything piece by piece. I would love to be able to shift the whole thing and be able to place the track along the mountains and around. The "group part" option would be awesome too... I like my town to be "functional" so these features would really be necessary to me unless I nuke, which as I said, I will not do in my main town. EDIT: with or without these features, and no matter what happens with the monorail, more land is absolutely crucial now.

Oh my god... does this damn Monorail talk ever end? Ya'll are already overplaying it and it hasn't even been out yet... there are how many episodes in The Simpsons and you're still obsessing over this one episode? Holy Jeebus...

I'd personally like a monorail expansion. Gives something to do with no story lines left. Only problem I Imagine would happen is probably would take ages to finish like squidport, I'm currently on 3.5 days for 1 board walk.

Again, I say this will either never happen or it will be a one-off building/decoration. There will not be monorail tracks that you all get to design and lay out on your own and there will not be an animated monorail that zooms around Springfield. (Remember that in that famous episode, the monorail DIDN'T WORK.) As for that long-ago discussion between Lisa and Homer while reading the internet, I never interpreted any of that to be a prediction of things that would appear in the game. Rather, it was the writers mocking on-line discussions exactly like this one in which people predicted/demanded the monorail was coming to TSTO. However, I would be happy to be proven wrong as long as the monorail expansion comes with an in-game Leonard Nimoy to save the day.

I don't see the point of adding a full monorail track in the game, it'll just take up space.
I'll be more than happy with a destroyed Monorail decoration piece though.

I would be more than happy with a piece of land where I potentially could place a destroyed piece of Monorail decoration piece. #sameoldmorelanddebate
