Harvesting money/Generating income

Hey again!

So I'm coming upto level 20, and I've been using the site to work out how much in-game money I need to save in order to proceed through the game.

Now I'm coming upto earning the Retirement Home and Penitentiary, both of which are 45k+.

How do you earn the money to do this on a regular basis? As far as I can see, both of these are earnt in a relatively short amount of time, so aside from building more blue and pink houses, which I don't want to do, I'm confused as to how I'm going to get anywhere over the next few days.

Any ideas?

Oh, I've just gotten to the Springfield Downs also, so I'm betting there, but I don't think the glitch for it works anymore, so I'm unable to receive more money than usual for winning.

rybeast you are doing what you can, other than adding neighbors to visit. We have all been there! I have a second town that I started out of boredom.
Money and land were and still are, a big issue. You will get the building. It just takes more patience than most of us have. Hang in there..you will get all the buildings, one at a time. Best of luck. A lot of here can hardly even play right now, due to lagging in our towns.
A Bad Example is right on about putting the characters on tasks that meet your schedule.

You put the free characters on the shortest task that you can reasonably reset. So if you can play once an hour, use 1 hour tasks. If you can only do it every 9 hours, 8 hour tasks.

Characters performing tasks can potentially earn a lot.

If you have either Channel 8 or Cletus's Farm, set them to four hour tasks or eight hour tasks, depending on character cycles.

If you MUST spend donuts, the Aztec is a good start since it adds tasks for Bart and CBG. After that, the Stage adds a four hour task for Willie that I find useful.
