Happy New Year! It’s the beginning of a new year and everyone is taking stock of who they are and who they want to be. With the Christmas event extended, and many forum members now waiting for new levels and new tasks, we decided maybe it’s a good time to create our own story lines. So what resolutions have your Springfield residents made? Here’s what’s up:• Using a comic making program such as Comic Life by Plasq, create a comic detailing your Springfield residents’ New Year’s resolutions. A list of currently known and suggested comic making programs is at the bottom of this post. • You can use several characters, or choose just one. The point is to create a story and illustrate that story through screenshots of your town. • Your comic should have a minimum of 4 panels with dialog or captions for each panel. • Working exclusively from a tablet or phone? Let us know how Comic Touch works, found at the link above, or let us know if there is similar software to what is listed above. We'll work with you. • A collection of screenshots with captions will not work in place of a comic. Since we are starting late, this event will run until February 7, 2014 (even if we start a new event on February 1). Complete the task according to the objective above, and New Year's Maggie is all yours. Sorry for the delay – takes us a while to recover from Badgecember. Hope we didn’t get caught with our pants down. Scratch that, this is a pants optional environment. Currently Known and Suggested Comic Making Applications Comic Book for iOS

I'm excited but a little nervous, because I've never tried making a comic before.
For those on iOS, there's also an app called Comic Book! As a total newbie, I have no thoughts on whether one is better/easier/cheaper than another, just putting out there that it exists.

Can any of the "pros" weigh in? I'm a complete nitwit and limited to iPhone or iPad. I would like to participate, but figuring out anything new is just daunting. Of course it may be much easier than I imagine, because I haven't even looked yet. I like to freak out in advance, saves time you know.....

Search for Comic Creator in App Store. Lots of free ones, and several low price ones.

I guess I need rules clarification before I go app hunting. Does it just need to be a comic?

It's a Mac version, so I can't do it Here you go. Had to do some Googling. I'll update the links so things will be easier for everyone. And yes, it just have to be a comic strip. You don't have to use Comic Life, but PNR knew about it and decided to suggest it.

I highly recommend Comic Life. I have it on my ipad, Mac, and PC. I have the paid versions, but you can get a few free uses out of the trial version before they start water marking everything. It's incredibly user friendly and easy to use. Anyways, here's mine Chrisp530 On the ball as usual. Well done. and thank you for all the ideas to steal, I mean copy, I mean for inspiration.

Umm wait that describes the other too, doesn't it? Dang it.

I was wondering why my thundey-senses were urging me to this thread, and I see now it's because you described it as a "pants optional environment."
If I remember correctly, the last time I tried to do a comic for a contest here, I only finished about 1/3 of it. So this time around, I think my resolution will be to finish... at least 1/2 of it.

Are there any free apps for this? Good to see you! There are some links in D'oh-tastrophe Inc.'s OP at the top of the thread. Looks like Comic Touch is the only free one of those (but it has in-app purchases). But A Bad Example said there may be more if you search iTunes.
