Currency The currency for this year's Holiday Shenanigans is gift cards. You collect gift cards from the questlines, certain character tasks, opening gift boxes, and visiting your neighbors. You can collect 30 Gift Cards per neighbor, so that would be 3000 a day with 100 neighbors. When you open a gift box you may also get a gift bag. Gift bags can be given to your neighbors after you have reached a certain point in the questline and left gifts for Other Springfield. To leave a gift for a neighbor you just tap on the gift box in the upper right corner of the screen and the gift bags will drop into your neighbor's town. You can leave five gift bags a day per neighbor.

Questlines GC = Gift Cards Too Much of a Good ThingNote: For quests 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 18 sent as many people as possible on the quest, not just the required amount, to get some bonus gift cards since these tasks are one time only. Thanks to LSLeong for this tip. You will have to use the new idle character cycle to cycle through the characters and find the ones that can go on the task after the required amount.

Krusty's Non-Demoninational Holiday Giveaway Wheel To play this minigame you need golden coins that can either be bought or you can earn them after the finish collecting all of your personal prizes at 1,000 Gift Cards a piece. The prizes are old lights facades from last year that you didn't get, the Snow Monster, King Plow, Simpson's Family Snowmen from last year, the Grandpa Simpson Snowman, ClausCo, Helter Shelter, Ice God, gift cards, money and so much more (not really, I think I listed everything)!

So now I'm going on two straight months of being unable to connect to the server via my Galaxy S3. And that's after uninstalling/reinstalling a number of times and downloading all updates.
So I either have to lug my iPad to work so I can do some tapping during lunch...or I just resign myself to never actually participating in this event. And probably just uninstalling the game overall.
Is ANYBODY having the same connectivity issues?

From what I noticed with other people: (1) If you can connect via one device but not the other, then odds are it's an issue with the device. (2) If you can't connect from multiple devices, it maybe an issue with your account, unless you can connect from one internet connection but not the other, then it's an issue with the internet connection. Either way, that does suck. If you keep having trouble, have you tried using bluestacks for PC? |

PC doesn't do me any good, as more often than not I need the mobility my phone provides. Can't get that with a PC and it's tougher with an iPad (need wireless).
Especially frustrating for these types of events, as I can't just check in quick to collect items and start new quests.

The Flanders snowmobiling task is a gyp. All 3 characters are used and we only get 35 gift cards for 10 hours.

Since it sounds like you want the ability to check-in during your work hours, the only thing I can recommend is bring your iPad with you (unless you happen to have a second smart phone) to test out if it's a device issue. But if you're willing to just settle with PC and play when you're only at home, this event is still doable if you only check in once a day. Either way, your situation does suck. Good luck! |
