Duff Dawg doesn't mean stalking, he is referring to the practice of "strategic moderating." Ahhhh, that makes all the difference then. Strategic Moderating is definitely not stalking. See we just have to learn to listen/read better. Context clue can make all the difference between a great Secret Santa gift and spending time Club Fed I'm sure that's what many of my students tell themselves when they log onto Facebook.

Now that brings a smile to my face. Students are great at rationalizing/repurposing things to their own benefit

My excitement for this event has now turned into depression and anxiety, as I can't come up with anything to gift. I've written essays that were easier than this (notwithstanding the grade I got).

I'm fairly certain that someone as artistically talented and photoshop savvy as you will have no problem with this and will put all the rest of us to shame

I don't remember if it was me or someone else, but the Kevin photo was posted in our very first thread on the EA forum. The thread that started the obsession.

There's no possible way that could have happened since I just made that picture this morning to give to my secret santa. I also happen to have a professional quality photography studio I haven't told anyone about. It's why that image is so much sharper than the photos I usually post.

Thanks for the kind words. I don't really know how talented I am, but sure, I could probably execute an idea well enough... but I just have no ideas. I'm like a... uhh... running back who can run pretty fast but always runs the same route. The analogy doesn't fit perfectly but you get the idea, hehe.

Would it be cheating if like u had an artist to do something that u weren't capable of doing to include in your gift?

When I read the PM I was all 'whoo hoo we can make our peeps 'real' gifts" So I made my person two gifts, one in real (for me to eat for them) and one I made in Photoshop and now I have no gifts. I didn't get a chance to save the stuff on Photoshop and it crashed on me. My friend came over ate the baked goods even though the person's name was on them. I fail so hard at Secret Santa

I may or may not be doing the same thing hmmmm, it seems like a new theme on this forum. I too may, or may not, be stalking my secret Santa in order to learn more about them. I think this might be a new form of Google Stalking and may carry with with a maximum penalty of a $5,000.00 fine and up to 30 days at Guantanamo, so we had better be careful to cover our cyber-tracks I do not need to stalk strategically moderate my victim giftee. They have joyfully participated in threads I created. I have the perfect gift for them.

Last night after I got the pm, I stared at the screen for about 8-10 minutes mumbling "What the **** am I going to do?!?" repeatedly. But something came to me today, and I'm sure inspiration will strike you. If not, try getting drunk

I must say that I too am now feeling the anxiety (and perhaps, a bit of nausea) expressed by others. I thought I had an idea when I signed up, but realizing that I cannot make it work, I am at a loss. I am now looking forward to those "examples" promised us, because I am fairly sure that time will speed up and being creatively challenged, I'll get into that last minute panic I remember from procrastinating a project in school until the last minute and then having to pound something out I was less than pleased with...*sigh*

I sent mine is as well. I am sure Duff Dawg is diligently working on procrastinating until the last 5 minutes (wait, I had better be nice, he could be my secret Santa)

If I make something physical, that still counts, right? I'll even send it to my recipient if they want it.

Jeez. Done already?! I'm not trying to procrastinate -- although, that was my middle name throughout school -- but I still haven't thought of what to make.
This is why I give people socks and gift cards in real life (sometimes gift cards for sock stores, or gift cards in socks). My creativity is as lacking as... um... this analogy!
