For this challenge the shopping area needs to include: - Minimum five buildings (mixing retail and restaurant)
- Minimum six residents shopping or loitering
- One “Holiday” Tree (or alternative Christmas Tree design if you weren’t playing last Christmas)
- One “protestor”
- Maude “haunting” as the ghost of Christmas Present, Past and Future
And then just post the pic here. +1 |

 While Skinner prances around in his Nutcracker outfit, Homer dodges hauntings from the Christmas Ghost. Ned protests Science cause everyone knows we didn't come from monkeys as Barney sleeps off an egg nogg bender. The twins try out their new MyPhones from the Mapple Store. Moe is doing his best Santa impression. Frink, Jimbo,Dolph,Ralph,Martin & Milhouse are all checking out their new presents. Granpa & Patty are taking a break from all the hustle bustle. Selma enjoys a Holiday Laramie while Lou & Santa's Little Helper enjoy the excitement of the Christmas Season! |

OK ... I know I said I was waiting for snow, but this morning's non-Christmas, non-snow update has forced my hand. My OCD can't STAND that I tore apart my town to build this scene and I don't think I can wait till next week for the snow to fall. So here's my version of Black Friday in Springfield: Violence, Chaos, and Commercialism at Its Finest!  Violence & Chaos at the shopping center. I hope I helped influence you in small way. |

Okay friends here is my entry and I will add my winter picture once the snow flies, which will make this scene so much better given that I was going for an ice-skating rink look to the center of my square - kind of a small Central Park-esque feel of skating around the Christmas Tree (we also have an ice-skating rink here in Houston in which they also put a large decorated Christmas tree for people to skate around, but it's inside the Galleria Mall (we do have outdoor ice-skating as well, my wife and I went last year and I ice-skated in my short at 70 degree F). So here we go: Arnie Pye: Kent, it looks like the whole town turned out for the Springfield Black Friday Sale Kent Brockman: Have you been sniffing those helicopter fumes Arnie, it's only the middle of the day on Thanksgiving. And Thanksgiving falls this year on Thursday. Arnie: Kent, Thanksgiving falls on a Thursday every year. Kent: It does...er...um, of course. I knew that. I was just distracted by all the people who showed up to trample each other. Arnie: Sure Kent, nice Ivy League education. Anyways, this Black Friday Sale is unique as it is occurring during the daylight on Thursday, long before the Dallas Cowboys somehow blundered another opportunity for a win in their annual Thanksgiving Day game. I mean, how is that possible? Shopping before Pumpkin Pie desert? At least the Lions blew out the Packers Kent:Can we get back on topic of what is going on out there, YOU are NOT the Sportscaster. Arnie: Right Kent. Well you see every Springfielder has turned out for this event, even those who are only here to protest being here. Marge and Edna are protesting that stores open on Thursday night rather than waiting until Friday. Oh, wait, this just in. Marge is protesting the stores opening, while Edna is protesting on behalf of the underpaid workers who are forced to put their lives in danger of being mauled at the mall by eager customers. It seems she can relate to that, her being a teacher and all. Oh look, it looks like the chaos has started as it looks like Barney has been trampled to death. Kent: OR perhaps he is suffering from another long day of drinking too much nog? Arnie: That may be as well Kent. But look, it seems as though the Ghost of Maude has made an appearance, trying to push Christmas cheer onto everyone by reenacting scenes from Scrooge. Where's Bill Murray when you need him. Heck, I would even take Steve Guttenberg at this point. Anyways, Kent, it looks like the big item this year appears to be coming from the Mapple store, big surprise, as their world domination continues. Hopefully people will stop fighting each other this Christmas season over gifts and remember the real reason for the season...what, WHOA...Santa Claus. HEEEYYYYYYY!!!!! (annoying tapped yell) watch it there fatso, your sleigh almost high my helicopter. They should never give a license to a man who drives a sleigh and plays with elves. Kent: Well, we may never know what the real reason for the season is, but if Santa keeps this up, I may never have to deal with Arnie in the Sky pining for my job again. Merry Christmas to ME! As it is an unseasonably warm day in Springfield, without even the hint of a snowflake to be found, residents are out doing a bit of holiday shopping but still aren't quite feeling the spirit of the season...   |
