I've posted plenty of times about irritation with buildings that just sit there unused after the initial task that brought them into town in the first place. (Bad Dream House, House of Evil, Phineas Q. Butterfat's, Knowledgeum, the Community Center, Fort Sensible ... the list goes on.)
I occurred to me that it would be great if EA took those random assigned tasks (the ones so many people dislike anyway) and changed them up a bit. Instead of using them to force us to do tasks that we could have chosen from the character's task list (Shop at Kwik-E-Mart, Walk Maggie, etc) why not use them to assign characters random tasks in these unused buildings?
Ned could spend 24-hours "Checking Himself Into Calmwood Mental Hospital." Homer could spend 4 hours "Eating the Pumpkin House." Martin could "Visit the Springfield Museum of Natural History" for 8 hours. Luigi could spend 6 hours "Checking Out the Competition" at Zesty's. Lisa could take 4 hours to "Shop for a new Snowball" at the Pet Shop. And everybody could finally get tasks to go to Squidport.
This could make the random tasks a bit more special and put these forgotten buildings to use.

I think it's a great idea. It pains me that so many cool buildings, most of which have great animations too (Knowledgeum!) are sitting unused while boring buildings like the hair salon get multiple visits from multiple characters. Why not fill out the missing time slots (2hr, 3hr, 6hr etc) by sending people to these unloved buildings?

Love this idea! And don't forget Pimento Grove. We finally got to use it when Wolfcastle came, but apparently everyone goes to special dinners at El Chemistri instead. :-(
