With the current OTM contest, you need to make your characters walk off the road in a predictable fashion. So, I am starting this thread to offer hints and answer questions on how to do this. I will start with a broad guideline. If anyone has questions, post them here. You are more likely to get an answer during the second half of the week. Why? This is what I am not submitting to OTM, since I got it to its current level during Halloween (my choice, it's eligible). To start, you need a large section of land with no roads; and minimal concrete. They are still drawn to roads, so if you have a large section of road to close, they will go to it instead of walking your course. As it stands now, the characters will follow a concrete path. So once you clear a section of land of roads and concrete, lay out a path. Then put the required buildings around it. Determine how you will get characters to start of course. And then start adding obstacles.

I'm very interesting in the making of characters off road. Does Marge conjure them from her cauldron, or does EA magically make them appear, only to warn you about how your are approaching your character limit?
