[goto=End]End of Post[/goto] - Zoom out as far as you can.
- Frame the area where your characters will be on your screen.
- Wait for the buttons to time off your screen.
- Take several screen shots as they move. The more, the better.
- Load the images onto your PC.
- Review your images; and make sure you know what order they should be in.
- Go to a site that create animated gifs. The easiest site for this I have found is picasion.com; and all instructions will be for this site.
- On the Create an Animated GIF tool, add your images in the order you desire. Picasion allows up to 10 images to be added.
- Select the size and speed of your animation. Picasion's default settings work well.
- Click the Create Animation button.
- Click the Save this animation link to save the animated gif to your computer.
- Upload your gif to your favorite image sharing site. You can then link to it the same way you would any other image.
And so you can Mayor Quimby dodge the garbage on the road. [anchor]End[/anchor]

here is a different approach with only 4 steps, but it requires that one has two devices. I have iPad and iPhone. 1. So i record a video with my iPhone capturing the iPad screen 2. then i import the video into one of these "video-to-gif" apps that you can download most of them for free onto my iPhone 3. then I select which part of the video i like to output as gif and save it via my flickr app online 4. then all i have to do is copy the flickr address where the image lies - that's it

When I was researching this I only found 1 & 2 star rated apps that you had to pay for. And I've learned you are going to waste your money if you get any apps with a lot of negative reviews, so I didn't even try those. Edit: I wrote the instructions keeping in mind many people only have the one device and nothing else to shoot the video on.

great thread BTW, but how does iMovie work? I haven't played around with it, but doesn't it take in pictures and let you create a clit clip, that is

I am not Howard Wolowitz trying to create a sex machine

I use the recorded material from my iPhone and import it into photoshop on my laptop computer then I can modify everything and have no limits.i can even add subtitle if I want to or change colours anything you can think of. Of course to do that you need some skills in Photoshop plus access to the software itself. For example do you remember the raven gif I used to have in my signature long time ago? I created it by adding the words "eat my shorts" to it I noticed someone else in this forum is using my little creation now in his signature. I feel flattered The same way (with Photoshop) I created my current stargate animation or my current avatar gif.

I just found an iPhone app called Gifcamera which lets you create animated gifs on the fly. Just frame your shot and tap screen to take images.
Looks like it might be interesting if it would save the animated gif to device or someplace other than social media.

Created a huge gif, and it doesn't allow you to create a gif for the full time it takes a character to go across the screen. Oh yes, and it doesn't seem to play reliably.

A Bad Example Do you think people would want a tutorial for an editing program (Photoshop, Gimp, etc)?

A Bad Example Do you think people would want a tutorial for an editing program (Photoshop, Gimp, etc)? I think some people would like it. I've been playing with this for a while; and the most reliable results I've found have been when uploading the animated gif from a computer.

I'll try to make one for those two programs later on today or tomorrow since it's easy to do.

Does photobucket require paid accounts for animated gifs? The ones I posted this morning aren't moving when I view the posts. From minus.

They're showing up as .jpg so maybe it's how it was saved. I know some animators (online and apps) don't actually save the image as a .gif unless you actually type .gif at the end when you're saving it.

Imgur seems more user friendly on he iPad than a year ago. Still not as easy as photobucket. But the images work.

They are .gifs on iPad; and upload with no problem to imgur and minus.
