Costume Party
Lucy recently suggested a costume themed photo contest, and as a result in this month's Photo Challenge, we will continue the Halloween madness with the ultimate TSTO costume party! We want to see you gather up as many characters as possible in their costumes. The old-school point structure is in place again, but there's a catch. Simply lining everyone up on the street isn't going to cut it. We want to see a party-esque area, complete with Halloween decor and buildings.
Point System:
Guidelines
Point System:
- Attendance: 10 points will be award for all party attendees who are in costume. Be careful, because those who are attending and are not in costume will count for -5 points.
- Cohesion: 20 points will automatically be award for the scene being cohesive, meaning it's not a bunch of random trees thrown around a building with a street going around it.
- Halloween decor and buildings: 5 points will be given for all Halloween specific decor and buildings present. There is a maximum of 125 points in this category.
- Public Favorite: 25 points will go to the public's favorite scene, which will be determine by a poll. After submission have been received, the judges will tally up the points. The scenes with the most points will be put into a short, two day poll where the public will pick their favorite scene.
- Creative costume: Since the definition of "in costume," for the purpose of this contest, is "a change from the character's normal attire," the committee has decided to allot up to 25 points for clever, witty, and/or funny explanations of a character in normal attire actually being in costume for the party. Please note that submitting a costume explanation does not guarantee you 25 points. You can receive anywhere from 0-25 points for this category.
Guidelines
- Please submit all entries to PnR Submissions.
- You can only submit one entry.
- You have one screenshot, and only one screenshot, to get everything you want it.
- You have until October 22, 2013 at midnight EST to submit your entries. Any entries time stamped after this time will not be considered. Public polling will commence on October 24, and end October 26 (approximately 48 hours). The winner will be announced October 27.
- A "costume" isn't necessarily Halloween specific gear. There are plenty of other "costumes" out there that are not Halloween specific.
Rule Amendment and Explanation (10/18):
- After much discussion and debate, the committee has to decided to amend the point system of the contest. An extra 25 points is now available.
- Read this closely: A costume is strictly defined, for the purposes of this contest, as an outfit change from a character's normal attire. For example, Homer walking around in his normal white T and jeans would not count as a costume, but Homer strolling around as a Mayan was. However, we will give all participants, even those who have already entered, a change to creatively explain one of the characters who are not in costume to us and to justify them as in costume. Up to 25 points may be given for clever, witty, and/or funny explanations. Explaining a costume does not guarantee you will get 25 points, you can get anywhere from 0-25 points for this. Please keep in mind that you can only try to explain one character that is not (by definition) in costume. Any other explanations will not be considered and any extra non-costumed characters will count for the -5 points discussed above.
- The new due date for submissions is Tuesday, October 22 at Midnight EST. Any submission time stamped after this date and time will not be considered. Public polling will now begin October 24, and end October 26, with the winner being announced October 27.
- Any submissions that have been received up to this point will still count, however, the person who entered may either revise their entry, pull their entry, or clarify their argument. If you have already entered you will receive a PM from PnR Submissions addressing the rule change.
