Halloween 2013 Your HQ For Everything Ghoulish and Ghostly Hello everyone! Welcome to Halloween 2013, provided to you by the developers at EA. I've synthesized information across the forum into one, concise, easy to read guide. Other forum members mostly provided the information seen here and credit is given where credit is due. The event ends November 7th, so please sit back, relax, and enjoy the ghost hunting fun!

The Event GOO, GOO, GOO!!! The Event kicks off when you enter your town after updating and a chat carries on between the members of the Simpsons Family.
After this you are prompted to build the Gypsy Fortune Teller Shop for a small fortune of $2000, which takes 24 hours or 12 donuts, and then you can actually start the event.
This year, you are required to catch ghosts which will either yield GOO or Gremlins. Gremlins can be released in your friends town to take GOO from them. The GOO collects similar to snakes from Whacking Day, and the more GOO you earn the more prizes you earn. GOO (specifically, 2) can also be earned by unhaunting the houses that your neighbors have worked hard to haunt for you. You also earn 2 GOO by squishing Gremlins your neighbors release in your town.Ghosts spawn every 15 minutes, whether you are logged on or off. The coding says that there is a max of 20 ghosts allowed in a Town, with the "Regular Bank Max" of 80, and a "Premium Bank Max" of 20. I'm not sure exactly how the different "Banks" work in reality, but for Whacking Day, you're bank was 50, so that when you reached your Maximum allowed Snakes in your town, extras would accumulate in your bank, and then release from the bank once snakes in your town had been whacked. Exclusive to the event this year is something called a "Global Total." This is a collection of GOO that the entire Simpsons: Tapped Out Universe has collected. It looks like we are eligible for five special prizes, with the first unlocking at 1,000,000,000 Global GOO. Get to GOO collecting, everyone! The entire community depends on you (so, y'know, no pressure!).Same as I did with Whacking day, if you start collecting GOO tomorrow, this shows how much GOO you will need by the end of each day to get everything by November 7th. Feel free to repost it.

Neighbors As with every event, neighbors are important here. Your neighbor must be updated to the current version of the game and must have started the event for you to drop Gremlins into their town or to pop ghosts in their town. For each neighbor you visit, you can earn at least 8 vials of GOO.
You earn three vials by haunting neighbors' buildings, but just be sure you don't haunt a building that's already haunted! These will have the dark clouds floating behind them. Clicking on already haunted buildings will take GOO from your neighbors!
You can also squish ghosts in each town you visit. The counter says you can squish 5, but it's easy to get 6 or more in each town. Squish your initial 4 in the town to get the counter to 1/5. After that, just scroll around and locate a group of ghosts that are floating near each other. Tap them all quickly and you can usually get 3-4 ghosts at the end, giving you a total of 7-8 ghosts for each visit.
You can also release Gremlins into neighbors' towns that will collect extra GOO for you. To drop a gremlin, you need to click the Gremlin icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Once you do that, the creepy little bugger will appear on your screen, front and center, and start running around (and you thought Burns Monster was bad). Each town can have a max of 10 Gremlins running around at one time. If your neighbor taps your gremlin, you each will get 2 GOO. Gremlins stick around for 4 hours. If your neighbor does not tap your gremlin within that time, you will get 4 GOO and your neighbor will get none. So if you are ahead on the prizes and see gremlins in your own town, leave them alone so your neighbors can get all 4 GOO.

Fun StuffOne of the neat, new things about this update it something called the Simpsons "Attic." You can access it by clicking on the Simpsons house, and it will give you a prize every day for the next five days.

Great work! So until the fortune teller is done, nothing else gets unlocked? I don't see any premium characters, or even locked items in my build screen. Don't we normally see those greyed out at least?

It would be most excellent if we could have a list of which characters have goo tasks (i.e. seems only some of the kids get to go trick-or-treating...which seems bogus).

Generic question... does your friend have to have goo in order for the gremlins to collect them? I have a few dead towns (in which I know the people IRL) and I'd like to hit them up if they update...
I assume that if you release a gremlin into someone's town, it steals their goo, similar to Lisa releasing snakes during WD.

I assume that if you release a gremlin into someone's town, it steals their goo, similar to Lisa releasing snakes during WD. I haven't played with it much. I'm going to mess with the Gremlins tonight and tomorrow and see hat happens. So far I've only released one in Andy's town and its got me a whopping 2 GOO. Also, I randomly got a donut when popping a ghost.
