Interactive Map with building locations

Might as well copy my thread from the other forum. Hope people find it helpful.

The interactive map (LINK TO MAP) is a great reference for this game. My only trouble was finding many of the locations simply because the map is highly detailed. Since there doesn't appear to be any way to search, I decided to make one.

I have divided the entire map into 6 sections. Each section corresponds to its location on the map. So, starting from the top left there is; NW (NorthWest), N (North), NE (NorthEast). The bottom row is; SW, S, SE. All six sections have been subdivided into zones, those are numbered. As a result, I have created a zip code. This helps by providing a general area to search on the map. For example; the Simpson House is located at N9.

There are a few missing in the list, like the Muntz House. As far as I can tell, the Muntz House is not on this map. Generally, this is an exception to the rule. The map was created in 2004. So, any location that appeared in the show for the first time after 2004 won't be listed. If I have missed anything, just post the building name with its zip code and I'll update my OP. Thanks.

You are impressive DarkroomHomer. I always thought would be cool to recreate that map in our tsto SF but never got enough patience to look where the buildings are. So helpful, and fun!

It was actually very easy to make. That's what appealed to me when I created it, it's quite simple. I know it was a big help in the other forum. No doubt it will do the same here.

My original intention was to set my town up just like the original, but, frankly, there just isn't enough real estate to do it as such. Sure you could shorten distances, but everytime something "between" 2 other spots showed up I'd end up pulling my hair out.

In the end, I am just happy to make it my own, there are only a few things I need to have close (Simpson's/Flander's, Moe's/King Toot's, etc...)

One thing I've noticed in watching different episodes (and even the movie when the Church was right next to Moe's) is that King Toot's is always next to Moe's and always on the same side. There may not be a lot of continuity in the building placement on the show; but that's definitely one that seems to always be the same.

Thanks for your posts. Continuity occurs in only a few locations in the show. I've noticed this drives the OCD inclined a bit loopy. Fortunately, things like that don't bother me. .

The game is about rebuilding Springfield anyway, so it opens the door for you to be creative. As long as you're enjoying the game, that's what matters I reckon.

I don't even understand this thread, but you've created yourself a lot of London postcodes with this haha. The mansions are suitably in SW2 in Clapham area

What's not to understand? People like to copy this map when planning their Springfield. If you had to search for all the locations yourself, it would take ages. This gives you the locations to save time. Hope that helps.

I thought the same as you when I first made the map about the codes sounding like London. Then again, it works for London, so why not Springfield? .

Update time again! Added Office of Unemployment. The other two were a bit elusive. The only thing I found for the Cracker Factory is listed as Southern Cracker on the map, I assume it's the same so I listed it there. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the Bachelor Arms and can't recall seeing it. It first appeared in the show in 2003, so it could be hiding from me. :wink:

EDIT: Added Bachelor Arms. Also, can confirm that Southern Cracker is the correct location. Once I had the building in the game and read the sign, it was pretty obvious.

I hope you could keep updating as more and more buildings were added!
like, old simpson farm, krusty's estate, republican party HQ, etc.
