This is what the background would look like with the current design. Figure if you change the colors of the links and it'll look better.  Maybe instead of the clouds getting repeated, make them only repeat on the first row and then fade to the light blue colour of the bottom of the clouds picture? That way, it won't look so bad with the joins. |

Here it is mixed with the banner color: its a bit better but now the frame is to dark, no? It could be brightened up to regular blue IMO, but it still looks pretty good with the normal navy bars. |

I like the the clouds from the intro, but the whole bright, light, blue thing is a little too much for my eyes. I have dyslexia and some minor vision issues and I find when I come across a websites with really bright colors in the margins make it very hard to focus and read.
I know a number of people who participate in my research who suffer from migraine disorders have similar issues. Just something to consider.
I've never played with the background setting options, but I know they exist. I would prefer to have the option NOT to have to look at the brightness.

I'm not opposed to having clouds in the banner, but leave the background as it is. About the clouds, it would look better if you did the sky blue and just placed a few strategic clouds. The current banner background is way too busy for my taste.
