With these episodes looming, does anyone think that they could add some of the characters to Tapped Out? The Futurama one I can see happening as it will be a The Simpsons episode. The Family Guy one, maybe not so much.
If they did an event for the Futurama one, I would like the Planet Express Ship with Fry, Leela and Bender at the very least.

I could see Futurama, especially since both shows have the same creators.
Bender has already been in at least 1 Simpsons episode as well (11x15 - Missionary-Impossible, he's in the telethon background).

Bender has already been in at least 1 Simpsons episode as well (11x15 - Missionary-Impossible, he's in the telethon background). He was also in "Future-Drama" where he was voiced by John DiMaggio. There has been a fair amount of crossover between the shows, full list here. My faviourite is when there was Alienese in The Simpsons and it translated to "WATCH FUTURAMA THURSDAYS AT 10".

Simply from a legal standpoint, I would think "Futurama" is far more likely to make a "cameo" in TSTO than "Family Guy." Since Matt Groening created "Futurama," it would be much easier to import those characters.
Adding "Family Guy" characters would require negotiations with Seth McFarlane for the game rights to his characters, and cutting him in on a share of the roylaties - which I can't imagine EA is jumping up and down to do.
The one advantage with "Family Guy" is that, if they could make a deal for the characters to appear, McFarlane does so many of the voices himself. I used to have a Family Guy game on my PSP ages ago. In it, I know Stewie and Brian spoke, which means McFarlane has negotiated for gaming rights in the past. So Peter, Stewie, Brian and Quagmire could all appear with voices. I wouldn't hold my breath, though, for Seth Green or Mila Kunis to sign over gaming rights to their voices.a
Ultimately, though, I just don't see a "Family Guy" cameo in TSTO. Particularly if the "crossover" episode was the one that aired last Sunday where a naked Homer appeared on screen for 10 seconds and said one line.
As noted by Solar Dragon above, "Futurama" has a long history of popping up in "The Simpsons" and, with this being the final season of "Futurama" and the odds of the show getting a game of its own low, a cameo by its characters would be a nice tribute to the show.
I have no idea what kind of gaming rights the voice actors in Futurama might have negotiated though. I've never seen a Futurama game before.

No, the crossover episode will be a full crossover with the entire Griffin family coming to Springfield. It will air in September 2014 as the season premiere of that season. And I agree, I think the Futurama characters appearing will be much more likely than Family Guy. The shows just seem to fit more and the characters appear more in The Simpsons.

Yes, with Adoy and the planet Bogad. (Adoy is Yoda backwards and Bogad is Dagobah backwards without the final "ah".)

I could see a few of the Futurama and Family Guy characters/buildings being added for perhaps a substantial donut fee. Granted, the Futurama stuff would be more likely, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a small selection of Family Guy stuff like the Griffins, Quagmire, and maybe the Drunken Clam get added to the game.

They could make a whole expansion for Futurama, just like Krustyland. Frink could invent a time machine/wormhole and we could visit New New York, have the opportunity to build a whole new land/area including Planet Express, DOOP HQ, Head Museum, and Applied Cryogenics and have a whole slew of new charactres. Even if they didn't criss-cross between worlds, it could be a fun addition to the game with it's own questlines.
Of course, we'd need a White House, and a whole seconday land for the sewers, and new planets to visit, and...... and.....
Why don't they just make a whole new game for Futurama. Problems solved.

I would guess, though, that in terms of narrative all that would be impossible. Each show has been established as fiction in the other.
I'd love it to happen anyway.

I don't think I'd like Family Guy in my Springfield. Futurama probably not either with the different skin colours and the drastically different setting. You may as well add Hank Hill for his one appearance before.
I wouldn't mind Jay Sherman though. He feels more like a proper Simpsons character even though he's not.

Matt Groening would hate Jay Sherman to be in Tapped Out. He hated the idea of "A Star Is Burns" so much that he had his name eradicated from the credits.
