Just as a piece of anecdata - I've gotten the harp freeze twice in the last three days on my secondary account. Both times I was able to use my iPhone 4 to get back in after 3-5 tries. (Restart phone, open ap and wait 10-30 minutes for it to crash, repeat) That's good to know, I got the harp on Friday, was rescued by an awesome forumer and am now close to leveling up again. I'd like to know when people level up safely to see if it happens to people with certain devices or time zones or locations etc. |

I just got the freeze again today. Josh had helped me a couple of weeks ago, and since then I had finished two 120K level 26's with no issues. Then this morning I hit the 120K cap again after finishing the 12 drinkers at the pub quest, got the 2 donuts bonus, left the game, and am now harped again. No building finished, just hit the XP cap. It's sad that these issues don't make me quit this game forever, but I keep coming back.

dougschoemer I guess if we CAN keep playing, we are hopelessly addicted and will do whatever it takes. Isn't it amazing that it requires kind people breaking the harp for others? I wonder how many people have had to get help from other players?

You can also turn on the Do Not Disturb mode in the general section of the settings app to further reduce the chance of interruptions (especially in the bonus donut round) 4) Plugging your device in to power 5) Double tap the home button on your device to bring up the application switcher. Press and hold on any app icon until they wiggle and show the minus button with the red background. Close out all apps by tapping on the minus button for each one. 6) If your really paranoid, reboot your iOS device (I would do this to maximize the amount of free RAM since you will probably get more donuts as described later on) 7) Launch Tapped Out and let it sit If your lucky, it will eventually let you in instead of the app crashing. Once you get in, you will probably be presented with the bonus level/three box/donut screen. If you don't hit three donuts on the first time don't waste money picking another box - just confirm the donuts you got and you will more than likely loop back to the same pick a box for donuts screen and get even more donuts. You will probably loop over and over. Mine went for 10 minutes or so and I got about 100 donuts before the app crashed; I wish I would have rebooted my iPad before trying that last time - oh well. Once the app reopened, my town was back to normal - now just with more donuts! If you have yourself, or know a friend/family member/whatever who has an iPhone 5, iPad 4 (the one with the lightning connector) or iPad mini those devices have more RAM and people seem to have a much higher success rate getting back into their Springfield's with those devices. Josh has also been very kind in helping out some forum members who don't have access to newer devices - for those who feel comfortable it's a very nice gesture (and he has some good advice about temporarily changing the password and then after he's done for you). I suspect it finally worked for me because I tried really early in the morning (2AM EST - I'm a night owl, what can I say?) as the Origin servers were probably not as loaded as during the day. That's my theory anyway. At least one other on here posted that they had success at midnight so there may actually be something to my theory. I did not get in on the first try! I was in the 20 or attempt range before I got back in, so don't expect this to work on the first try. If it does consider yourself lucky  If you do manage to get in before they fix it, you can get a nice boost in donuts due to the glitch. And no, I feel absolutely no guilt in these donuts - I didn't ask for them nor did I go out of my way to trick the game into giving them to me unlike several of the cheats that have been posted previously; I got them as part of normal gameplay. Well, as normal as buggy gameplay can be considered anyway. Maybe this can be stickied to catch people's attention? It's buried in a couple of the other threads, but not everyone reads all the pages of every thread. I had the Harp Freeze on an iPad3 and followed the directions here and got $50 worth of free donuts and the game is now working. Thanks so much for this forum. |

Got my first harp glitch and am three hours into the restarting, waiting, crashing. In case anyone is curious, throwing your phone does not help.

Just curious, with people that have harpies when you levelled up, did your Xp stay at the max amount, or did it drop back to 0? I have just levelled up now, and the bar was stuck at max for awhile, despite collecting from houses. Then after awhile (finishing the build on o'flannagins actually) it reset and the Xp bar began to grow again. Just logged back in and I am disease free Just a thought..... |

I could stand to get the harp freeze for a few more donuts.... As far as I can tell, they managed to fix the endless donut part of the glitch. My harpies were fixed this morning but I only got one "pick a box" for two days of playing The Simpsons Locked Out. Glad it fixed itself because I was ready to delete the game and cut my losses. |

hello i have the iphone 4s (with the newest ios update) and i've been trying to follow the steps but it doesnt seem to work (perhaps more patience might work) it seems like i can "tap to continue" but that is farthest i can go... am i suppose to leave the screen on till it crash, force it to quit, open app, and repeat till it works? or should i just force quit as soon as it freezes?

I had just reached Xp limit on bonus round after building hospital, don't yet have wiggums house or el chemistri (which I know some people have thought were responsible) Playing on iPad 3, disabled the auto lock and left game for about 20 mins, it let me back in, got several hundred doughnuts (thanks EA) but also Xp bar has filled up to 40,000.
Thanks for advice on how to solve, worked for me first time.

Hello all. I'm glad to have found this forum as it seems to be full of knowledgeable posters. I woke up this morning to my completion of El Chemistri. At the same time the completion wrapped I also leveled up and picked my donut prize. The game then went down and now I have the "harp freeze". It seems the 7step program is the way to go in fixing the problem. The question I have is, Is there anything I can try in the meantime rather than going without the game all day until about 1-2am. I need my daily fix and just collecting El Chemistri and getting 3 donuts isn't holding me over. Thanks in advance.

just had the dreaded harp -follow instructions here and after about 15mins back in the game ! thanks for simple to use instructions .
was on a ipad (3) so you can get on with it
and 320 donuts - result:)

Dammit!!!!! Got the harp freeze again this time it was weird the xp bonus came up when I only had 420 xp I collected my donuts then it let me play for a while before finally crashing, an of course as I try to get back in it gets stuck an harp plays.

I really can't believe they didn't fix this yet. I just got it again, this shit is ridiculous.
I've leveled up twice since getting it with no problem and just leveled up a little while ago and now I get it.

Whacked out by the harp glitch a couple of days ago. Thanks to my savior Josh I'm up and running again. Just wanted to take a moment to thank him and this forum for getting me the help I was so desperately in need of. God only knows how long it would've taken had I not found this forum. I have to say that, besides the fact that I found a site (TSTO) that actually had the answer to my problem, it was amazingly refreshing to have come across a person like Josh that made it so easy...and successful without having to jump through a bunch of hoops or red tape. To me, that's huge! So, again, thank you TSTO forum and to Josh for bringing my Springfield back to life. You made my day!
