Just happened to me. Wondering if josh will be nice enough to help an idiot like me out twice. I just shouldn't have built it. FWIW, I am not as far along as some others have reported -- like the Wiggum House or El Chemistri. My freeze appeared this morning after I added Channel 6. I am currently trying solutions advised here ... nothing yet on my iPad after 2.5 hours of trying but will shift now to my iPhone 5 to see if that works any better. I will advise. Update: Using my iPhone 5, I got in. I did experience the donut loop -- I didn't count exactly but estimate I got about 150 donuts out of that. My iPhone 5 is using version 6.0.2 -- I have not installed 6.1.2. I went back to the iPad and was able to get in there as well. My thanks to all especially docno42 for the help that this thread has provided! Well I got locked out again and josh saves the day. I'm starting to wonder since it happened after completing channel 6, if its if you complete any building? We are just experiencing wiggum and el chemistri because we are at level 26. Any others affected by completing a different building other than wiggum and el chemistri? |

Hey all, new to the forum here. This fix didn't work for me, despite trying many many times. If it's a RAM issue, I may have to just find someone with an iPhone 5 somewhere and ask to borrow it lol.
Thanks for the steps though, at least it felt like something different than listening to that "level up harp" over and over.

well darn it....the bug has hit me too. I thought I would get lucky since we have had two push updates.
So....I hit the Level 26 bonus for the third time, caught 1 donught, spent 50K (bad) and got 3 donuts. Back into town to collect mone, wham, crash. OUT. trying the OP steps first before I panic. But darn does it tick me off. Especially since its the end of the month.
Its probably not a bad idea for me to step away from it for a day. LOL. Anyway back to real life for now.
p.s. Also just started the Burns Manor build.

Thought I would never get this as I have leveled up a lot of times and have been fine. Burns manor had just finished building and Smithers and Burns were having their chat then this happened. Can't get back in |

Can't get back in Hi all! Also new to the forum. Exact same thing happened to me. Just finished building Burn's Manor and BAM! For the longest time I had no idea what you all were talking about with the Harp glitch. Sigh. Now I know and wish I didn't. I think I have the iPad 3 (no idea there is an iPad 4) but no iPhone 5 so I can't try fixing it that way. I've done all the steps the OP suggested and am letting it sit. But not sure if it will work for me. If not, I'm gonna be extremely bummed |

Quick question:
Am I supposed to let Tapped Out stay open (meaning the start up screen)? Or am I supposed to keep closing the app and re opening it after I do all the steps?

I believe, let it sit at the startup screen, until it boots you out back to the home screen. At least that is what I am doing. I have done this about 6 times now with no luck. I have shuf off and restarted twice inbetween times. So I'm onto my 7th attempt after being out of the house for 2 hours.
Currently its just hung at the startup screen...donut is not even moving.

Yeah missing out on something would really bother me. What also boters me is I just added some more premium content to get my multiplier up to 35%.
Now my android device can't connect to the server either.
(wish I had gotten the donut giveaway glitch first)

Hate to disappoint, but after downloading the App Store update, it didn't fix the glitch. Have a new start-up screen to stare at though! Woohoo!

Yes, downlaoding the update has not worked so far for me. I'm going to assume that the servers are overloaed as that is typical any time an update goes out.

I think I have the iPad 3 (no idea there is an iPad 4) "iPad 3" is the unofficial name - It's the Retina iPad with the 30 pin dock connector that Apple, annoyingly, just referred to as "the new iPad". The iPad 4 is a slightly upgraded iPad 3 with the new lightning connector. If your iPad doesn't sport the new lightning connector, then it's not an iPad 4. And even though the iPad 4 and iPhone 5 have the same amount of RAM, the iPhone 5 will have more free since it has a smaller screen with less pixels/resolution. Borrow a demo iPhone 5 at the Apple Store if you have one near you. You can download TSTO app on them since it's free, and then log into your origin account. The only problem is you may feel like a dork holding the phone for the 15-20 minutes it usually takes to get back in  Try later at night when the origin servers are likely to be less loaded - that's when I got back in with my lowly iPad 3. But the iPhone 5 seems to guarantee the best chance for success if you can get access to one for a half an hour or so. Good luck! |

Hold the power button down, slide to power off and then power it back on. In early versions of iOS this was almost mandatory after every app update. It's often unnecessary these days after installing app updates, but it never hurts! |

Been trying to fix this thing for hours. Stays on the start screen then just crashes after about 10 min. I think my leprechaun might leave me for another finger

Ralph just gave me the harpies Tried this fix but all that happens is the same as skullhand1 after about 10 minutes the app just crashes, when I try again back to harps! Can anyone offer a different solution? |

Hit the bonus donuts game this morning, after hitting 120,000 XP on level 26.
Got 2 donuts, played, closed app and not able to get in again.. as soon as I heard the harps, I knew what was going on.
Using your advice, on my iPhone5 I was able to log back into the game. Won 2 more donuts on the bonus game and it was back to normal.
Only 50 mins of stress. Thanks for your clear advice!!

explitive explitvie explitive free Harp Concert in my town....  explitive. Something about major amounts of experience gain this game does not like. I was 40K away from the bonus level and I entered my town thinking I would be safe. Collected all my money from houses as nightly tasks were not done yet, still had room before the El Chemistri completion xp. I would put me close but not over. Whew. mivEI7m I tapped two more houses and BAM Bonus Window...one darn donut for all my work.  Not spending 50k for another chance. I' broke broke broke. Finally in expansion mode. BAM BAM BAM. CRASH!!!!  HARPS HARPS HARPS Lisasmall(I know it's not a harp) SOS has been sent. I feel horible using this persons time for a third time. |

For too long I have been separated from my fellow tappers today i join them on the front lines fighting against this nasty harp,like i did when we had crashing issues  Here we go again  If this doesn't work ima be pissed... especially cuz iv got no idea what this harp is about. |

Just as a piece of anecdata - I've gotten the harp freeze twice in the last three days on my secondary account. Both times I was able to use my iPhone 4 to get back in after 3-5 tries. (Restart phone, open ap and wait 10-30 minutes for it to crash, repeat)
