edit: Wait a second! We can easily place disconnected tiles! Sorry about the totally pointless post/thread. It would be nice if we could do this without extra effort but ... Place a string of tiles from your Squidport toward where you want to build something. Put all the tiles you just placed except the last one into storage. Repeat as necessary. edit: There's never any need to put your whole Squidport into storage to do this, just a few tiles. You can even place things faaar away from Squidport this way.

This will be cool when I get enough tiles to actually matter. I like the idea of the houseboat being a water taxi between the disconnected pieces.

Actually, I have placed tiles in random places without any need for initial connection. Just plopped them down where I wanted. Currently only the fountain is on such a tile, but I did make random islands at first (I think mdfriend has done this as well, only better than I did) I love your frying dutchman placement, slowbro
