Going back to the cancer badge, I think that would make a great badge actually. I mean we have one for supporting LGBT, why not support cancer? Yes, I have had a family member go through cancer (not as Jesse Pinkman, in that case I'd be talking about Mr White, bitch!), but I'd love to show my support on the forum. I believe it was shot down because there are a couple of reasons this would make a bad badge. One of which is that there is some controversy regarding some of the ribbons. Moved this discussion to the appropriate thread for proposing badges.

There could be controversy on the LGBT badge with homophobic people. The issue with the cancer badge was the Political agenda behind the ribbon movement. On the surface, the pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness is awesome, but dig any further and you'll do like me and anytime someone buys me or offers me a ribbon to wear, I kindly say thank you, don't wear it, on go on about my day.

There could be controversy on the LGBT badge with homophobic people. As D'oh-tastrophe Inc. said, there is political controversy related to the quintessential cancer ribbon. Here is an article describing some of the economic controversy. And here is one for the political controversy. As an aside, I have had several relatives that have had cancer, including breast cancer. And the Susen Komen foundation will never see another cent from me for these reasons listed in those articles. Other ribbons have other issues. Fraggle might be able to point you to references on them if you ask nicely. She answered this question quite well the last time it came up in this post.

You can display a ribbon in your signature, but we won't be starting an official ribbon campaign on the forum. For the reasons above, and also there are too many variables... if cancer, then we'll need autism, Parkinsons, heart disease... all great causes, but the list is too long. For something so personal, it is best to support it personally instead of badge-grabbing style. Also, LGBT is not a disease so it's not really the same thing.

One special designed ribbon to represent all the diseases perhaps?

One special designed ribbon to represent all the diseases perhaps? Well, A Bad Example did suggest a sick Bart badge on the previous page...

We have a few glitches with sp, oap, cf, c6, and I think those people tap first in a neighbors town should get a badge when they're mentioned in a seperate thread. For this idea gimme that badge to show people how beautiful it is!

Is it possible to include a countdown in posts for contests? I'm not as good in html and such things, but I know you're awesome. I've found something in here that could work.

The countdown in my signature is spansers for his script that notifies us of new updates uploaded to the EA server, but give me a day or so when I'm sober and I'll set up a simply countdown script that can create countdowns that can be put in the signatures or on the contest post that auto-updates. If you can tag who creates the contests in a reply so I know who to deliver it to

@tdpreys and D'oh-tastrophe Inc. I use a thing called a ticker. (There are many websites that you can use just google) www.tickerfactory.com/ezticker/ticker_designer.phpThis site is a very basic one that is used in my signature. You can have a look at different sites, there is another one I like called Alterna Ticker I have used on other forums. alterna-tickers.com/create/steps.php?code=CDWN&step=1&ticker=newSo if you want a count down to an event, you the click event and then you can add the date what the even is for etc. You can also chose your time zone (so mine is applicable to Australia), change the slider and back ground. Then you go an use the bb code in your signature. (edit: just saw to put in the forums, then you would use the HTML code i believe) Hope that helps if you have any other questions let me know!!!!

That's what cool people do! People who think they're important (auto correct wanted me to type "impotent") ask P&R.

I'm wondering If there could be a water features contest. I have several friends on my list that have made pretty amazing use of the rivers. It's a free decoration, available to every level so there's no reason that everyone couldn't participate. Even if it was just a "what have you done" I'd be interested in seeing more.

On my routine Gotham night watch, I thought of a new game, ok its not really new, but it is to the forum(Though it'll probably be similar to Whodunnit).
Anywho, I was thinking of a forum version of the classic board game Guess Who, featuring Simpsons characters of course. I'm still working out the details of how it would work, just thought I'd get the idea out there and see if there was any interest.
Fun Fact: There is actually(not surprisingly) an official Simpsons version of Guess Who.

This could work very well with a host being the one to pick the "who" and the forum being the one to guess.
