I had problems with it all. Including one post I made with the app that appeared. Nine times (thanks IDGAFF for cleaning that) but the app never showed it posted.

ORIGINAL TOPIC: Forum Crashing on iPad
If you are like me and find that this forum is endlessly crashing and logging you out when using Safari on the iPad, I would suggest switching to Puffin browser. This is exactly what I have done and like magic the problems have just disappeared.
I do appreciate that as far as magic goes this is pretty rubbish. You would not, for example, hear Gandalf shout "YOU SHALL NOT CRASH!"

Thanks for the tip. I use Dolphin and, though the problems don't seem to be as severe as in Safari, it's not a smooth experience.
Also, I could swear that in the Special Extended Director's Cut Blueberry Edition he does indeed yell "THOU SHALL NOT CRASH!"

ORIGINAL TOPIC: ProBoards Mobile Site
I started using the mobile site, because the app leaves many things to be desired.
Today, every time I connect to it , or change area I am in, I get prompted to go buy the Proboards app.
Is this a programming mistake, or a deliberate new "feature"?
I get this on an iPhone 4S, 6.1.3, using Safari. On both wifi and 3G.
And a Galaxy Tab 2, with ICS, over wifi.

ORIGINAL TOPIC: Tagging/Member Search Problem
Is it just me or whenever I want to tag someone and search their names into 'Insert User Link', I can't seem to find them. And this is problem for me when I wanna PM someone. Here's an example: This has been happening to me for nearly two weeks now and I thought it was just a proboards problem but it seems like other people don't have that problem, so how I have been doing it for two weeks is quoting someone and then getting the BBCode username. And I've tried using two different computers, I don't know if it's just my account or it's the forums. I hope you guys can help and I hope I'm not alone! Cheers! Abigail

ProBoards is aware of this problem. I have been seeing posts like the one below for a few days now on the PB Support site... of course, that is always followed by "We think we got it! " and then "No, we didn't. " My apologies guys - our search server has been misbehaving as of late as we perform server optimizations, which explains the cases reported in this thread. I've let our system admins know and they should have the issue solved in short time. Martyn's close to fixing this one (every time I see him he's working on it). Please be patient.

Abigail manual tagging still works fortunately Just do the @ symbol, and then their username (for most people it's there display name). To find usernames on mobile, click onto their profile, and it will say there, on computer, hover the mouse over their display name.

ORIGINAL TOPIC: Problems on iPad
I'm having problems with the TSTO Proboards site on my iPad (slow down and freezes) again. I was actually running really well on the iPad for a couple of weeks, but yesterday and this morning it started freezing up again.
I have a feeling the issues may be related to an increase in traffic on the site? I was fine during that period when everyone was stating they were "bored" and not playing the game that much. Suddenly, Squidport comes along, the number of posts and readers shoots up and my iPad is freezing again.
Is anyone else seeing this? And does the traffic seem a likely culprit?
If I'm the only one seeing it, then just ignore and I'll check the site on my Ultrabook.
I just thought I'd post in case the info helps the game administrators at all ...

My problems seemed to have stopped, like the "Error: need to refresh page" thing.

ORIGINAL TOPIC: ProBoards Mobile Site APP Popups
Is there any way to turn off the freaking popup that prompts me to install their app every time I enter a new group or go to make a post?
On iPhone 4S and Galaxy Tab 2.

I wish. I already own the app and keep getting it on my iPhone. Me too. That's one of the reasons why I just stay signed in all the time and leave my browser open--it only prompts me about the app if I'm newly signed in. "Money doesn't buy happiness." Uh, do you live in America? 'Cause it buys a WaveRunner. Have you ever seen a sad person on a WaveRunner? Have you? Seriously, have you? Try to frown on a WaveRunner. You can't! They're so awesome, it's just throttle. People smile as they hit the pier. Because you forget, you need gas to turn. It goes against your natural instincts. Some of you aren't laughing; we all miss your cousin, but not laughing's not gonna bring him back. He's dead for a reason. He was a show-off, and he tried to spray us. "I didn't wanna get wet!" I yelled at his mother at the funeral.

That's one of the reasons why I just stay signed in all the time and leave my browser open--it only prompts me about the app if I'm newly signed in. I checked site on my phone while taking breaks outside today. Every time I changed groups or went to post it did this. Combined with the white screen and token errors I also get on the mobile site, it's making me seriously reconsider spending time reading and posting here if I'm not at home. I come here to relieve the stress, not increase it. I was considering getting the membership to make ads go away. It would be worth it. But not if the site has these issues; and Proboards is not addressing them.

After a quick search, it seems ProBoards have been dealing with a DDOS attack this week and this is supposed to help fix the problems.

This has been an ongoing issue that ProBoards is aware of. Here are the latest status updates from the Support Board: Multiple staff are currently engaged on working on search (and have been all day!) we hope to have a non-buggy search system in place ASAP. Thanks for your patience in the meantime. ...my apologies. Search is going to be off-and-on until our server guys are able to implement their more permanent solution. 847.63
