I know that a lot of people don't come here very often, but I thought I would make one last post. There was a pop up today in Tapped Out disabling in-app purchases. The game will be removed from the App Store on 10/31 and the servers will be turned off 1/24/25. It was a pleasure knowing you all and I'll see you down the road.

Yeah, when I saw the new update’s image picture of a sunset, I figured something was afoot.
The timing does suck because all the new land we got last update really got me excited to do more town planning. I’ve spent more time with the game over the last month, than I have in years.
It’s a shame they’re ending it, but I knew this day would come eventually.

yes I always feared the day would come when it ended but this is unexpected after all the new land. I was going to enjoy the snow this year,
for me the game was truly life ruining as well as fun

I haven't enjoyed the game since there was no reason to visit neighbors, leveling up stopped, and the events were the same boring format over and over, but I kept on playing out of habit. I did enjoy some of the story lines, and I will miss it for some reason.
What I don't understand is why setup exchanging currency for donuts? You get everything you didn't have in the past and then what? Once they turn the servers off in January, the game will no longer be playable correct?

I really have continued to enjoy the game to the end (if we call this the end ... pretty soon here I won't be playing every day anymore unless there are more events). My favorite part is the writing, always at least worth reading for me and once in a while it actually makes me laugh. And this is only my second post here in about the last 8 years, but I know that back when I did post here, I got to meet some really neat people here. Thank you.

From what I've read, the game will still be playable until the end of January then they are shutting off the servers.

Though I'm a little sad it's ending, I'll get over it. However, people on Facebook and Reddit are taking the news really hard. There's even talk about a private server for the game.

I haven't been here in a while because the game has been so repetitive there was no need to gather in groups to strategize and stuff. But I wanted to wave goodbye one last time. I had a lot of fun when times were good.

End of an era.
12 long years I've been working on wiki stuff for the game. And of course, even when the game is ending, EA couldn't let me rest. They had to bring everything back. (Well, almost everything, they've missed several items that I've found). So, I'm relieved that it's finally over and I won't have to make sure I'm free to spend hours adding stuff to the wiki when an update hits.
I haven't enjoyed playing the game in years, but I'm still kind of sad it's over. Annoyed that they're still missing several important characters, especially when we got characters like Dr. Dog and Desert Park Ranger over characters like Richard and Hubert Wong. But there are some good memories too, especially from the earlier days of the game. And the community has been pretty great. This was a good community back in its prime, and I've had a good community on the Wikisimpsons Discord server too.
It's been a long road. I still remember the early days of working on the wiki. To figure out where characters did their jobs, I'd have to send them on the job, follow them to the building, then note that building down. Now, I just look it up in the files which I am now fluent in reading too. Soon to be a completely useless skill, I guess!
I also joined the EA NDA program, where they would send us information on major events before the updates hit. That was a pretty big thing. And Golden Goose Realty returning in A Bart Future after they added 900 tiles of new land (this was a major flag to me that the game would be ending soon btw) was actually due to me emailing EA to ask them about making the land easier to get to, since there's Land Token only land before the new land. I actually helped influence the game in small ways on a handful of occasions, which is kind of insane to me.
I'm sad that it's finally over, but also relieved at the same time. I can finally relax a bit more. Until we get the next Simpsons game that is!

Since everything will be re-released will the First Time Packs be used? I only got Shelbyville Manhattan. Since the other items aren't in the the store any more, they have to be since not many bought them, which are Jebediah Springfield, Car Impound Lot, Ned's Camper and Shelbyville Manhattan Statue. Plus there's all the other Black Friday items: Shopping Cart Pile-Up, Ian with his Car, Steamed Hams, Homerland Bundle, Marge's Station Wagon, Willie's Haggis Booth, The Leftorium, Homer Whale, Homer's Hedge and Simpsons Mountain House.
I hope we can get all these items to at least enjoy them before the game ends.

The game has been removed from the AppStore. If you're playing on Android, I'm sure that there is an APK that you can download and install.
