Was there any word about items from past Black Friday events to be used in those boxes?
Cause last year they did have the CostMo and the Lard Lad Donut Factory.
So there should be some items from the other 3 Black Friday events in those boxes.

Thanks for the info. It looks like it could be an interesting event. New land is always exciting. Rather expensive though.

I started playing again last month (after a couple of years), as I wanted to get Sentient Lard Lad.
Then, the new event started and it got me somewhat hooked again…
I even ponied up some cash (for the first time since the Easter 2014 debacle) so I could get the building that allows you to unlock the new land a bit quicker. (I was also hot to get the Lard Lad factory, which was in the gold mystery box.)
The 900-donut purchase (with the 25 bonus tokens) pushed my token total past the number I had needed to get every item in the gold mystery box.
I then splurged and spent a heap o’ donuts to get everything else. (I discovered last month that the combination of my bonus multiplier, God’s 24-hour cash bonanza, and the boosted XP generator, I could buy enough rat trap trucks to farm about 90 donuts a day. It’s a grind, but donuts are donuts.) [BTW, is there a better XP option than the rat trap trucks?]
(FWIW, after grabbing all the Black Friday stuff, my task book counter showed “100” for the first time ever!)
One last thing: if you are thinking about spending real money to get the new content, “Ian” is well worth the outlay. His animated task (with Nelson) is right out of the episode. Highly recommended!
