I just calculated that if you hit 1,125 bells per day (starting on the 25th), you will hit the required number for the 20 days to 13 Jan.
I noticed that the event expires after 24 days, so there might be a possible extension on the 20 as listed above (question mark in bottom left of home screen)

I'm just going to go all out - going on holiday for three weeks during this part so I doubt I'll get many prizes. The elves are cute though!

As with Part 1, collection rates will increase as the event progresses. In this case, we'll be upgrading the cannon.
(Hopefully this will be enough to get ahead, as I'm also going to be on holiday for part of the event...)
