If anyone knows do we continue to see an increase in the number of customers in KL as our parks increase in size and attractions like roller coaster tycoon?

Yes. At 0 stars you will see no visitors. At 1 star you will see 5, at 2 stars you will see 10, at three stars you will see 15, at 4 stars you will see 20, and at 5 stars you will see 30. You can find out more information in my Krustyland guide.

Has someone also determined if the amount of tickets they offer go up as the rating goes up? I thought earlier today that my visitors gave me 5 tickets each but when I just collected from them they each gave 3 tickets. Is there a method to this?

I just read the guide and there was nothing about the tickets the customers give you. Has someone determined how often they offer tickets? Seems to be about every four hours. They seem to be pretty close to Homer and the ring toss but I haven't timed 'em. I dunno, I'm only at the first rating. I think they give you five when they first appear, then 3 after that - at least now all I am getting is three from them. But like you I could have sworn I got 5 at first.

The customers generate tickets randomly. Each customer is random.
4 hours - 2 tickets 8-4 12-6 20-10 24-12
But your Krust-o-meter thing bonus effects the payout. So on some you'll get 3 tickets and on some you'll get 5, some you should get 7, but probably not until you get more visitors.
30 is the max on random visitors for 5 stars.

I think they pay out every 3 hours, as I have checked at 2 hours; and there was none there at 4, there was. At 3 and a quarter there was.

I don't remember where but in the first version someone said how many tickets you get and how often. I haven't had a chance to add that in yet. It's been a crazy week.

Don't forget you also get more Springfieldians to visit as your town grows Has anyone tracked at what point which characters move over if they're not on task in SF?

When they have a potential task available. For example Skinner comes over with Krusty Burger being open.

This morning I got 5 tickets from each visitor, yesterday during the day it was all 3s (but I checked more often). So there may be something to the the time dependency, but I haven't noticed the random aspect yet.

I believe Chrisp530 said only 18 people from Springfield end up in krustyland. Maybe more will be able to after the next update.

My highly unscientific observationis of what happens with the "guests" and their ticket earnings.
I have 30 guests and all of them seem to earn 3 tickets every four hours. However, if I don't collect those tickets and let another 4 hours pass (for instance, if I actually sleep), the number of tickets increases. This morning, my guests all had 5 tickets each. This would suggest that they don't double their earnings, but do increase them if you don't click in a timely manner.

Anyone know when the visitors cars start appearing in your car park? I have a reasonable size 2/3 star KL and it is completely empty.

I clicked them at 6:30 this morning, and I'll be home after 6:30 this evening. I should therefore get 7 tickets per person (2 for every 4 hours plus the 1 bonus ticket) from all 5 of my visitors. I'll check and report back.

Lisa convinced everyone to go green so now everyone rides the shuttle. Seriously, I don't know what's up with the cars but I do wish they'd do something with that big empty parking lot. What a waste of real estate.

UPDATE: I tested indydude33's hypothesis and I did get 7 tickets per person (5 people). I had last collected them at 6:30 AM and I just collected them at 6:50 PM. So I got 2 for every 4 hours (6) plus the 1 ticket bonus (7).
