Patty and Selma supervise as the residents of Springfield get in shape. Lisa practices on the beam while Hank Scorpio, Judge Snyder, and Wolfcastle go jogging. Willie shows off his one-armed pushups, Carl pogos, Disco Stu skates, Sideshow Mel juggles on his unicycle, and Herman practices his battle stance. Meanwhile, Kearney makes some sweet dance moves, Luanne rides her giant hamster ball, Chalmers makes up his own unique exercise routine and Sanjay cheers everyone on.

The people of Springfield have gathered at the park for a Get Fit event "Keep your Heart healthy" sponsored by All Night Gym.

Following the debacle that was the Easter update, Springfield’s residents were so outraged, they did the unthinkable to change their lives – get in shape in hopes they would be able to storm EA’s castle if the next update involved random odds of chance.



Herman – Training for the upcoming Coup Against EA
Patty – Hula Dancing
Grumple – Stalking around down mysteriously practicing “reverse” barbell curls with a knife
Carl – Pogo-ing
Disco Stu – Roller skating
Lovejoy – walking the dog
Kearney – dancing a jig
Lou – Running around town pursing criminals
Krusty – Walking Mr. Teeny
Brandine – decided to add some weight and a “sauna suit” to her walking routine with camo and a gun
Agnes – sweeping the town, getting her forearms in shape
Sea Captain – lifting a mysterious mechanical fix with the added weight of toilet paper
Dredrick Tatum – walking tiger
Hank Scorpio – running a 5K
Rod and Todd – on the seesaw
Manjula – No one can say pushing 8 children around isn’t a workout

Maude – kind of the wrong idea, but she is doing the only exercise a ghost can do – haunting
Dr. Nick – fearful of disease, he went for his morning walk with a mask and gloves
Wiggum – I think he got the wrong information about proper exercise apparel
Milhouse – out running around, flying his kite
Lenny – Disappointed Carl wouldn’t share his pogo, he mopes around, but is still walking
Kumiko – Kawaii
Tom – Multitasking by walking and cleaning his mugs for work
CBG – Looks like he ate a few too many donuts to fit into his work out clothes
Chester – through an entitled dizzy is a form of exercise; at least he is outside the house and not just playing videogames
Mr. Burns – walking the hounds
Sharry Bobbins – started to exercise, but lost so much weight, the wind swept her away
Selma – taking a break to smoke
Homer – Ulma practice is exercise too; it is a sport
Granpa – exercise is doing his 100 year old body good
Eddie – twirling baton
Lisa – Balance beam
Hans Molman – decided to film the whole thing but was distracted by a game of football
Barney – at least he is trying to walk around drunk, rather than just being passed out drunk
Rich Texan – He is working some kind of muscle
Chalmers – He is definitely exercising, but not really sure he/she is (mentally) healthy
Hibbert – has his workout suit on
Kang – Running away from puny humans

SVT – carrying a heavy weight of 1/4lb burgers

National magazine, Soap Opera Digest, recently declared Springfield the fattest city in the United States. The fact that this came from a magazine not at all about fitness made Mayor Quimby take it all the more seriously, so he hired Wolfcastle to head up a program for a day for Springfieldians to get in better shape. Unfortunately, a new building called Johnny Fiestas was added to the game a new restaurant called Johnny Fiestas opened up in Springfield and to celebrate their grand opening, they held an all you can eat buffet. Suffice it to say, most of the residents decided to forgo lifting dumbbells and instead lifted forks and knives.

Some residents showed up though, and their definitions of exercising were... liberal. Comic Book Guy exercised his eyes by reading. Moe exercised his right to carry firearms. Crazy Cat Lady improved her upper-body strength by carrying around all her cats. Brandine made the argument that not only was she lifting the weight of a baby, she was also losing weight by smoking. And Kirk Van Houten exercised his arms by advertising condos.

Others took it more seriously. Wolfcastle, not deterred by the poor turnout, jogged while lifting weights. Sanjay is riding around on his skateboard. Martin and Mr. Burns rode their bikes (Smithers just rode along). Disco Stu did some roller-blading. Grampa Simpson and Flanders were wrestling -- Abe for practice, Flanders because he mistook Abe's wrinkly body for an alligator and wanted to catch it. Patty and Kearney exercised with dance. Jasper was practicing his cricket paddling. Rod and Todd, afraid that actual sports are evil, figured they were getting exercise from the see-saw. Herman was doing a round on the punching bag, but after the bag won, Herman stabbed it. Luann is riding around in her megaglobe, which she insists doesn't look stupid. Sideshow Mel is working his calves on the unicycle... but since he's a clown, he can't do it without some juggling.

And finally, the reason I chose this particular screenshot over all the others, even the Snow Monster got in on the action and after eating bartering with Bart, rode around on a skateboard!

The residents of Springfield are trying to get into shape for beach season. (Everyone knows that if you don't start by February you won't be bikini-ready by June, but one has to admire that they are making an effort.)
