I was recently inspired to build the edges of my town and was hit with an overwhelming distaste for the inventory system. I feel like building my town takes 2x longer because I'm scrolling 3 items at a time. Anyone else in the mood for an inventory revamp?
Here's the thing... How would you rebuild it?

Could not agree more. I reached the point some time last year that, if I'm on one end of the inventory, say trees, but I need a bench or something else on the other end, I'll just go to the buy menu and get another one instead of scrolling all the way back to the beginning of my inventory. I think I have at least 1 of everything you can get multiples of in my inventory, so it's huge, and takes way too long to go back and forth.
I don't know how I would rebuild it or organize it, but categorizing it gets mentioned the most often. Trees, flowers, shrubs, benches, signs, vehicles, walls, balloons, etc... They'd need a few ones like miscellaneous too, obviously. I can't think of a better way than that, so that would get my vote

Even on the buy menu Chrisp530 all the trees are not together and if you want a particular kind of tree, you still have to go scrolling. I wondered how many other people just said, screw it and bought another one rather than look for it in inventory. What I hate is when your convinced you have one in inventory and realize you don't and you wasted all that time scrolling back and forth looking for it. They made a character locator, maybe they will revamp the inventory. Here's hoping though #1722 (iiiway) . +1 |

They should allow you to create Groups of Folders. So you can create a Group / Folder called Trees, Bushes, Fences, Buildings, Characters, Christmas, etc......
It would be great if there could be two levels of Groups or Folders so you have a Holiday and then under that Halloween, Valentines, Christmas, etc....

Here's hoping though #1722 (iiiway) . +1 I usually weigh the decision, is it quicker for me to scroll through the inventory or the buy menu, all depends on the item. I think have their placements memorized by now. I probably waste more time figuring out which method is quicker, than it takes just scrolling through the inventory  |
