Your wish... I'd like to see fireworks over the Grand Canyon please. Uhm, you want to try again? That is a fireworks free area. I checked in case I missed something; but all images I found were of other places.

German Xmas Pickle?? I think I love this... While I too have a lovely pickle ornament on my tree now (with salt-like frosting even), I have always been puzzled by this description. No one back home in Germany that I know has ever heard of this "German custom". It leads to great amusement every christmas when I have other Germans over for dinner and make them find it. If it is regional, it must be very geographically restricted to say the least.

I have a pickle for my tree. I hide the pickle in a different spot each night. Whomever finds it gets to pick a gift from the pickle basket. This way I make the fun last about two weeks, from the day the tree goes up until Christmas.

This way I make the fun last about two weeks, from the day the tree goes up until Christmas. This is all kinds of awesome...and as a pickle lover, how I've never heard of this is beyond me. But things will be different next year...oh yes they will!!! And, since I've derailed this thread with all my talk of pickles...I'll get back on subject with Laughing Luigi 's desire for "fireworks over Niagara Falls" I'd like to now see Xmas in a fish bowl...

If it's too difficult to tell that they're at the beach: January 6 is a religious holiday for a number of people. I'd like to see how it is traditionally celebrated in your part of the world or religious denomination.
