Lag on the Forum

[A Bad Example]

Today I've seen some issues with lag on the forum. This happens on both my Mac (Firefox and Safari), iPhone 4s and iPad 2 (Safari). I have only experienced problems while on the forum.

What happens is I change screens, and while loading the new page the browser freezes up. If the page is short enough, I have noticed that the stories at the bottom of the page seem to take forever to load. On the iPad, they sometimes flash on on the screen, clear off, and then I can continue doing whatever.

I have power reset both devices.
On Mac, I cleared history and closes all but the tabs for the forum. Made no difference. Changed from Firefox to Safari, same thing occurred.

On the iPad and iPhone I killed Safari in the task bar, cleared the history, no change. The iPad is running IOS 6.1.2. The iPhone is running IOS 7.0.

I have been experiencing some lag on my iPad as well (Air, iOS7) so it can't be a hardware issue. I think we might have too many plugins running, or possibly conflicting plugins. I'll have to experiment with this later today and see which are absolutely necessary.

Ive been having lag issues too. I thought it was just my iPad being stubborn, but I guess now I shouldn't have tossed it out the window.

It could be proboards. I've noticed when this forum slows down, my other one does as well.

Yep, both proboards forums lag for me, but it's usually on pages that are heavy with images and gifs. I thought it was my old ipad2 slowing things down. It's more of a scroll lag for me. It has really slow response times to swiping the page up and when it does scroll it stutters, it's not a smooth scroll. I don't get this issue on Facebook or other websites though.

Can't help you on Mac, but iOS 7 has been slow as hell on most of my sites I go on, yet it's fine on my PC

These boards are always laggy on my iPad. Not so much on the PC. Just my experience.

I am lagging too. Andriod based tablet.

That's odd. I'm on iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4, and no lag. I experience it sometimes but not often. Does the Air have more processing power then the iPhone 5 Spiffshine ?

I don't know the specs, but I assume so. When using your phone, are you on the mobile site or the full site? Mobile shuts off a lot of features to save data.

I don't know the specs, but I assume so. When using your phone, are you on the mobile site or the full site? Mobile shuts off a lot of features to save data.

I'm always using the full site (desktop).
