What laptop do you have? Do you need a hand getting a graphics driver?
Also, I do have older installers of bluestacks if you need it ?
I believe the Zoom options worked on older versions too.

What laptop do you have? Do you need a hand getting a graphics driver? Also, I do have older installers of bluestacks if you need it ? I believe the Zoom options worked on older versions too. HP Pavillion G6 with Intel Core i5. Only 9 months old. The Intel website is telling me to get a new Graphics driver and that it can't update it. I have never upgraded the graphics driver before and I have no idea how as I've had no need to do it in the past. I don't game on my laptop, otherwise I would have gotten one better for gaming, so haven't needed a decent graphics driver. I would have thought that Bluestacks wouldn't need that decent a graphics driver as it's only running phone apps... Anyway, no need, my phone works fine with Tapped Out, and I can't be bothered to go through the hassle of trying to get Bluestacks to work. This is just another excessive nail in the coffin for my thoughts on Bluestacks in my mind.

Graphic Drivers usually need update every now and then, fixing bugs, adding new features and most likely Windows Update does it's job for you, doesn't matter for gaming drivers sometimes need updating.
Also, most programs for better performance, such as Photoshop use the GFX Card as well as the CPU.
However, the new bluestacks is slightly different to earlier versions as I believe they've updated the version of Android is uses, it definitely works better for me than earlier versions.
Do you have a model number for the HP G6? There seems to be quite a few versions.

Oh and I only use Bluestacks for convenience as I'm usually on my PC doing work, and obviously Tapped Out stuff ha (it even has it's own dedicated HDD now as there is so much) it's much easier for me to load up bluestacks than it is for me to fiddle around with a Mobile or Tablet heh.

Technology really does advance extremely quickly...

Anyway, I forgot to ask what operating system too ha, but anyway here is the support site for the laptop so you might be able to just run there 'check for updates' feature as this will find any other driver updates you might need - h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=5306096&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=ukAlso, it seems HP has two versions of that laptop one with an Intel Graphic Chip and one with an AMD Graphics Chip, it might be the Intel one isn't installing maybe because you have the AMD Graphics Chip?

No, there's no need. It's just going to be too much hassle and I really don't want to deal with the stress right now... I'm already taking tablets to keep me calm and I need to avoid any unnecessary stress, such as BlueStacks.

Well...after just commenting earlier, I upgraded to Windows 8.1 as prompted by my laptop, and now bluestacks doesn't work for me at all. After a search, apparently this is a known issue. I'm soooo pissed right now

Deleted all previous versions. Reinstalled newest version in compatibility mode and it just doesn't work. The install won't ever complete...just "fails". I've been all over the world wide head today and this apparently works for some but not for me. I don't think I can go back to playing on my phone, so this may be the end for me...

OK, try this. Uninstall Bluestacks.
Then going into your Program Files folder and delete the folder Bluestacks.
Then go to your Users Folder, should be in C:/Users and open your username folder, click the view tab you may need to expand the options next to the help question mark.
Check Hidden Items then go into AppData then check Local, LocalLow and Roaming folders and delete any Bluestacks folders if present.
Whenever I've had an issue with Bluestacks, I've had to manually remove folders the program uninstaller doesn't remove itself.

I'll probably do it, as I have a need for a functional windows PC at home right now.

Thanks OuterHaven ...I have scoured my laptop for any and all bluestacks files and I've gotten them all. It just seems that the steps I've taken to try to get it to reinstall work for some and not for others. Windows 8.1 shows compatibility w/ bluestacks as well. Guess it's what I get for upgrading willy-nilly just because I'm prompted to do so...

You just scroll with a mouse wheel so you will need an external mouse. However, once you zoom in, you can't move around... Try installing the latest version of Bluestacks... But on the zoom you can use CTRL and the + and - keys on your keyboard, you can also use CTRL and the arrow buttons to move around your Springfield however, they are inverted I think, most likely to mimic mouse movements so CTRL and UP move the screen down, CTRL and DOWN moves the screen right, you get the deal. So it does, thanks OuterHaven; it also does a bit of odd scrolling zoom in and scroll left for CTRL- and zoom out and scroll right for CTRL+ and the occasional click thrown in for good measure LOL. +1 EDIT: Going by the above conversation I'll not be "upgrading" to Windows 8.1 then

Wow. This thread has really taken off. Even though I've decided it's not worth the bother I would like to thank G0THAMGIRL and OuterHaven for all their help and advice. This thread is now well equipped to help anyone who needs it.

Sorry for bumping the old thread.
I just downloaded this to see if it might help with a problematic town. I can't find TSTO, though. Is "Trucos Simpsons Springfield" or "Trucos Los Simpsons Springfield" (both options on my Google Play Store, brought up after I select the German name for the game in the Bluestacks search list) the same game? If so, how do I tell which game to download, since none of these has the icon?
Also, WTF - I'm getting (presumably) Spanish search results from 2000km away??
Edit: Never mind. I still have no idea what that app is, or why I'm getting (presumably) Spanish search results, but clicking on it took me to the actual Google Play Store, and I was then able to search for TSTO directly.
