And right here is the conundrum, someone like JoeBeezy deserves this as much as anyone even if it was the second day. On the 15th we had like 106 or 109 sign up...so might be more based on what month you joined you will get a badge. But who knows, maybe something we can think about in the days (months, years) to come I think first week would be good enough. Ah, so no badge for Gilby then huh being he was on day 9?

HUZZAH! I'd barley qualify But would you qualify rye? What about oats, sorghum or spelt?Sorry, sometimes I find it hard to keep my "that guy" in check... At least I do try to temper my grammar police tendencies with smart-ass humour. Krusty the Clown for knowledge of grains, as well as smartassery

Personally I'm a "no" on anything that favors the order in which one registered for the forum. Month sure why not, date or number no. I have a feeling if you comb through the numbers there are probably a lot of people who registered as part of the first 100 who are no longer active, or never were active.
On the other hand there were probably a fair number of people who didn't see an initial link or were not personally invited via pm who are active members now. I know when I first looked at this forum I was afraid it was just going to be a temporary place where people bashed EA and I didn't know if that was what I was interested in being part of.

Hmmm...how very Machiavellian of you to try to again shift blame. Of course, since I called you out first, you're simply behind the ball on this. I'll readily admit that had I voted with respect to only my own non-TSTO interests, it so would have been the hot blond in number 4. Fine then, I blame Duff Dawg for voting for the MLP badge then. What's mlp and which badge is that, I voted for the channel 6 logo

Everything Fraggle said in the excerpt I've quoted above, plus this: our mini-profiles now say when we registered. Creating a badge over and above that to recognize some arbitrary first number or date threshold of registrants feels cliquish and exclusionary. If anything like that ends up being created, I very much DON'T want it.

I'm not a fan of creating any sort of "inner" circle, it alienates people and creates an us versus them situation.
However, I like the idea of tenure. Some companies, you have a badge and with each passing anniversary you get to add something to it. How about something like that? Like there is the overall badge for being here during the 6 month anniversary and then you get to add a "diamond" or something for every month that you've been there since. If you make it to the 1 year anniversary then you get a better badge?
Just a suggestion, never a good idea to exclude people because as has been stated you have a ton of members who came months later who are are far more active than some of the ones who joined up at the start.

To further expand - It starts from the time you first join (after everybody gets the 6 month badge). Then just like a job, as each anniversary passes of you join date then you get to add a "diamond". To make it easier for you guys, you can do this at the 6 month anniversary of the person joining.
So those who joined during the first month would be rewarded their first diamond, everybody else has to wait till they reach their personal six month anniversary to get the diamond added. You could have the badges premade and just give them out. Have a thread started and leave it up to the member to remember to post asking for their "diamond".

Ahhh, an everyone and their brother badge! I had momentarily thought that it might be limited strictly to the original trailblazers who migrated on that fateful February day. There is still the idea being kicked around of a badge for that...more of a tenure badge, maybe not just restricted to the 15th, but Feb say, or the first 100...but those are just ideas for now How about up to the first 129.... 100 is a silly number. Everyone counts in 129's....

I'm somewhat sorry I even mentioned it now. My suggestion was never meant to encourage/acknowledge an inner circle or clique. And if we did have a badge for that, it would have be something like this: After all, wasn't this place born partly out of accusations of cliquishness?

If this makes any since I'm way under the influence right know between Moe Szyslak and those shots from ward I'm gone so please forgive me.

It would be a great way to not only lure lurkers into posting but also keep them around. We all love our badges (even those of us who so ardently insist that we don't *coughs* me *coughs* ) and this is one that people can't beg for because it's determined by how long you are here. So to be clear, everybody gets the 6 months badge and then you guys (staff, of course) determines at what intervals the special "diamonds" are added to the badges. You (staff) are not responsible for keeping up with this, it will be up to the forum member to post in the dedicate thread saying "Give me my diamond! See my join date?"

I thought this badge was supposed to be like the anniversary gifts companies give out for milestones: We've been around 100 years, everyone, let's have cake (cue lakooo). Everyone who was still employed on the date the company turns 100 gets some sort of keepsake of that milestone, a certificate, mug, paycheque/paycheck, etc. If we are celebrating individual milestones, then have a PB logo and use Lucy's diamond suggestion. Or, to the history buffs out there ( Lamson), the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds. The way my old company did it: When they started, they got a pin. At the 5 year anniversary, you got a pin with a tiny diamond. At each subsequent milestone annversary (10, 15, etc.) you got an up-blinged pin. All of this rambling boils down to one point: Is this badge a milestone for the Forum (i.e. cake for all) or is it a personal milestone (i.e. pin/award/certificate for people who have reached the appropriate milestone)?

JustForFunzo, I like cake! Let's do two! Give me! Give me! LOL I'm all in on the thought of doing two separate things as long as everybody can get them equally. Spongebob likes equality, lol, I don't think Lucy VP does though although if you give her a nickel? I bet she can be convinced to change her mind, she seems a bit stingy/greedy.

Hey mdfriend, the more this gets discussed, the more sorry I am I brought it up. At this rate, we may wish to create a new badge for jerks like me who have raised sticky issues. Might I suggest it look like this?
