So it occurred to me today that smileys/emoticons, pick whichever word you prefer, are not directly available when viewing the mobile version of this site, but they can of course be used if you know the smiley code. For a simple smile or a cheeky wink, this is no problem, but for some of the more advanced uses of images to express emotions, you might need a handy reference page, which is what this will (hopefully) become. Note: Only the basic ProBoards emoticons will actually be displayed on the mobile version of the site, not our beautiful custom ones, sadly. Even though you might only see the code such as (mblaugh), other users browsing the full version of the site will see the actual emoticon. :) :P :| :'( >:D :D :( ;) 8-) :???: :o  +1  :puke:  O_o  :eyeroll: :-X bacon :coffee: :grr:  :raspberry:   :brickwall:   :eyetwitch: :raiseeyebrow: :angryrant:   :shtf: :winkykiss: :jawdrop: :skinnernod: :homernod: :cake: :otto: :terrified: :guilty: :dejected: :distraught: :condescending: :determined: :agitated: :shifty: :infuriated:  :delighted: :intrigued: :tickled: :pleased: :drunk: :stupefied:  :stuffed: :fearful: :burnslaugh: :mmmcake: :lisalaugh: :margelaugh: :point: :haha: :donutdance:  :crawl: :homer go crazy: :rose:  :zap: :jump: :nothingtoadd: :itchyscratchy: :bartdance: :bartmoon: :skateboard: :bartman: :glare: :oh: :hmm:  choke :maggie:

Thanks for the guide AndyTo bad I'm on mobile and can't really see most of the ones listed... Might edit them to show as images tomorrow, I didn't consider that the guide would be tough to follow on mobile. I'll sort something when my brain is functioning properly.

I never understood the moble thing. Why don't y'all use the desktop version located at the bottom of the page. Or does that not work on certin phones/devices?

Spiff, would I be okay to link directly to the images, such as: storage.proboards.com/3625805/i/IHpYNnPbWOr1U809gr6B.gif or should I re-upload them somewhere else? I only ask because I remember you saying it was better if people didn't upload images directly to the site or something like that...Never mind, I'm just going to re-upload them, seems safer that way.

Andy , what you could do is upload the smileys to imgur, then paste them as IMG code, so they show up on mobile. Nice guide though

I never understood the moble thing. Why don't y'all use the desktop version located at the bottom of the page. Or does that not work on certin phones/devices? The mobile version is designed to take less bandwidth for those on mobile data plans. That also explains why some of the heavier data features are unavailable for mobile, but you can always switch to desktop if you need to.

The images never seen to show in my characters guide(link in my sig) There is a max size of 580px wide and/or 100px tall, but I don't know of a resolution cap.

I'm playing on an iPad and my emoticon bar disappeared this morning when I logged on. It was there last night along with the ability to tag people. Also my home screen no longer has a left column with thread descriptions. I looked at the bottom, and it gives me the option to switch to a mobile version, so I'm assuming I am on the desktop version. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There are 2 versions of the site, one is mobile and one is desktop. Desktop version is the full version of the site, and includes all features. Mobile is a "lighter" version, and contains a lot less (designed to use less data and to be able to run on smaller processors). The mobile version doesn't have the sidebar, Doesn't have the top bar, Doesn't show custom smileys, Doesn't show badges (except proboards store ones in your profile) Only has a quick reply function, And a few other missing features Hope that helped
