About 9 hours ago I posted about in game glitches and exploits, my first few posts on this forum. I check back now in the morning (I live in Aus) to see notifications that two people liked my post, 4 people have quoted my post, just to see the thread deleted?
I thought we came here to avoid that sort of thing. I was enjoying seeing peoples responses on the issue, away from EA's forums where we cant discuss that sort of thing freely. Does anyone know why the threads were deleted? Or what went down?

Was it moved to a more appropriate section? Being moderated things can be moved around to keep some semblance of order.

No, it says blank thread and my post history seems to have been deleted along with the thread.
Just curious if anyone knows what was said, because I was really genuinely curious to read some replies this morning!

Please see this thread. While we are not here to be a "bad guy", we need to take some precautions in the safety of keeping this forum up and running. These threads are new and a big appeal is that we can post w.e we want. If you are already worried about about getting shut down and gonna delete threads in fear then these boards are gonna be useless asap. We don't needa big brother mod lording over everything in fear if this experiment is to survive.

I understand your standpoint, blh, but if this forum has links and instructions to all the hacks, glitches, cheats, or whatever is out there for the game people will flock here en masse and EA will find out about it. EA being EA can, probably, get in touch with ProBoards directly and get this place shut down. Whether or not they would is a different issue, but I understand where H1 is coming from with his stance. And discussing glitches hasn't been completely ruled out, just instructions on how to do so has been.
I don't think this small limitation is going to render the forums useless in the least bit. There is more for this forum to offer than simply cheats and glitches.

If you want cheats, there are a million places to find them online.
On the other hand, places for reasonably coherent and entertaining discussions are much rarer. That's what I'm looking for, and finding, here.
I find the discussion of the ethics of exploits vs hacking ( which I define as altering code in any way) fascinating.

The benevolent part is key, though. I came her FOR the moderation, not to get away from it! A good mod explains why threads are locked/deleted and warns users who are crossing the line. The EA mod just deleted posts/threads without notice and banned users arbitrarily. I have no problem submitting to the authority of the mods of this forum!  |

Don't get me wrong I like it here I just think this place is way to young to already be heading in this direction.
All mods should be doing is keeping everything in the right place.
Again I get they don't want trouble but come on this board is so small that we are nothing.. On top of that ea doesn't care about there official board why would they care about this place.
I need to say I don't think we should be posting hacks or how to videos. Just pm someone and then go at it off the view of everyone else.

That right there is inviting people who are looking for cheats to come here. Walter Sobchak - You don't think cheats should be posted here, and you don't think threads should be deleted in the forums infancy. How do you suggest resolving a situation where a cheat is posted? and EA does care what is posted on their forums; otherwise all of the cheat threads wouldn't be deleted as fast as they usually are. I'm pretty sure the first PM I sent on this forum was about removing that thread. Glad you guys came around! No clue if it matters at all, but as I mentioned in a different post, EA/Origin is an advertiser on Proboards. I don't know how or if that matters at all, but I doubt they'd be happy paying money to a company that *enables the* teaching of exploitation of their games. (edit to add *enables the teaching* instead of "teaches")

Why dont you what people to be able to talk about cheats?
What can EA do anyway? (nothing)
Why did you lock the thread so i couldn't ask there?
It seems to me like you havent really answered any of these
to my satisfaction, i mean yo say stuf about lawyers but what
would they do to? Sweat FA.
I thought that was the whole reason why this forum was made,
because every one wanted more freedom but maybe its just
because you want more control.
