They are kind of like pond ice. I want more land (maybe in SH) as I am piling up free land tokens. They are burning a hole in my pockets.

To echo an earlier comment....
If offered wrapping paper vs. batteries in daily challenges, REJECT.....
You will lose out to the point of at least 375 batteries.....

Got my first one of these this morning, and gave it thought. I don't think I'll be short of batteries at all, never are even when it seems slow to begin. Whereas I really want to get more stuff out of the re-gifter and it's slow going. I do agree they should have made it 30-40 instead of a chintzy 10 though

I like this event. It seems we don't need to log on every 4 hours. There are so far no tasks to earn event currency. And the robot Funzos seem to max out in 24 hours: 1 Funzo every 18 minutes, max 20 in town and a bank of 60. The Re-Gifting Machine has no cool down time. If you have 15 wrapping paper you can play. The craftables are nice. I like the Candy Cane Fences and the Poinsettia Flowers look promising, also the North Pole Columns. Kang's Santa Skin is great and we get a Santa Skin for Kodos too! Now I only need Santa as a playable character. if you look in the list of characters hes there

I like that this event feels a little different in how you play. It seems there are no 4-hour event tasks for characters unless I am royally missing something, and finding the Funzos is certainly easy enough with the button. So I like it for it being a little different. But the story ... Simpsons characters, Santa, and religious figures fending off aliens? I take it some chunk of players, or people involved with the game, or both, really don’t want more traditional Christmas content. Then again, after 2 acts of this maybe we do get something more traditional. Anyway, I’m not really complaining about any of this, just pointless yakking, and I am enjoying the event like I usually do.

Why oh why would EA ignore such a huge number of players that partake in a "real" Christmas? Last year's Wiccan BS was exactly that..... BS..... In fact, I was hugely insulted by the whole event. Whether you are religious or not, if you "celebrate" Christmas, Santa always features higher than some alien in a red and white furry hat - hopefully JC does too..... It seems to me that EA are merely replacing last years "Wiccan muppets" with Alien substitutes so as to keep the masses Happ(ier)..... Would it be too much to ask for EA to STOP commercialising JC and simply run a Christmas event that CELEBRATES one particular religion's most important day - this rather than turning it into a mere side-show.... Lord help us if EA ever dare to put forward an image of "The Prophet" - as they have done with JC this 2017 Christmas event..... If that were the case, I am sure that Jihad would be announced within seconds.... Yours - although non politically correctly..... Jonno

Jonno Do you really watch the Simpsons or play their games to get a serious take on religion? my question is why the hell do people care so much, there’s no problem with diversifying winter when there’s multiple religions that celebrate different holidays around the same time of year. I’m sorry December isn’t only for Christmas. I’ll admit the premise is weird but it’s accomplishing what it needs to. If the writers want to include Jesus, Buddha, and hell even if they wanted to add Muhammad they can because this is the Simpsons and parody is what they do.

Myself I’m not looking for something religious; just some lights and elves and a sleigh ride might be nice. If the game actually went at length celebrating Jesus’s birth ... I would welcome it sure, but that coming from The Simpsons would feel a bit strange. Last year’s event was truly bizarre ... I guess what feels strange to me this year is that they’re including all those religious figures. Soon I’ll have Buddha walking around Springfield, etc. Anyway, after I posted I realized it was possible I could start something ugly with a post like that ... I am happy nothing like that has happened. I sure respect anyone who really wants celebratory Christmas content, and anyone who feels they see too much of Christmas each year, and anyone in between.

From the last three events i found that if you get in twice a day, most times you get everything you need two or three days before the act change. The stories are typical Simpsons, and Looks like Santa will show up. The building donut requests are not that way out. Also the sizing in the buildings are not overly large. So far so good.

At the risk of sounding like I'm speaking for others, I don't think it's a matter of them having a traditional Christmas event as much as it is a feeling that there is a double standard. There's a fine line between being funny playing off a stereotype and being a jerk. The problem is that line is in a different place depending on who you ask. IMO it's always ok to make fun of the extremes on either side of anything. Parody the Churchy Joe's all day long, but if you can't or won't substitute XYZ group/religion for ABC group/religion; then, you're going to be on the wrong side of the line for a lot of people. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you're going to be edgy, you have to be willing to offend everyone equally. So far I'm enjoying the event, but they could have done it without the Jesus reference. Homer's praise Jebus is funny. Alien Jesus not so much.

I am trying to handle the issue in a way that I just don’t take the simpsons too serious therefore I don’t get offended or angry. Even sometimes when it’s very obvious that things are being politicized but when one doesn’t take it too serious then chances are, you have a good laugh or so but at least not getting offended. This approach has worked for me so far quite good.

mokkabee I can see how that could have been missed. I knew how I had taken it, but I couldn't remember exactly why until I looked again and saw the name. If someone just tapped and didn't really pay attention to the dialogue it would have been easily. I know I've had my own "so that's what that's supposed to be" moments. Just to clarify. I wasn't saying that I or anyone else was offended, but that's always the risk taken with this kind of content. I always try to choose my words carefully when discussing things like this because this isn't a place that I want to debate certain things. The one thing that religion, politics and sex all have in common is that none of them should be discussed in polite conversation.

I must say, despite my negativity towards this years winter event (although backed-up by last years event) I am actually surprised by by EA as I am really enjoying this event, there are some craftables that I am really looking forward to (I want as many Candy Cane fences as I can possibly get, also the Gingerbread House and The Simpsons Gingerbread House), bravo to EA for not making this awful and by the looks of things finally giving us Santa Claus as a fully playable character (I want him now, but I suppose what's a couple more weeks after seeing him in the game about 2 or 3 years ago lol).
I am not too keen on the Alien twist in the event, but can live with it as it's still much much better than last years one, like that little North Pole village thing, I am seriously considering that, as I think it would look good in my "North Pole" area in SF, just not overly keen on the alien twist to it, but still got a while. Besides holding off from buying too many donut items at the moment as I am not sure whether we will have to buy Santa or if he will be a prize.

I can not find anything about the claim that it helps with the event currency. As a comparison to it... the Rigellian North Pole for example generates the batteries but the Peak Inn generates only in game money and xp points. Weird

I think they can earn currency in Act 2. According to Simpsonswiki there are two daily challenges called "Send B.S. Leaguers to Battle [x8]" and " Send Rigellians to Battle [x3]". This sounds like the Montymort battles.
